The venue is nice refurbished and has the comfort of the twenty first century but the grandeur of the twentieth. Well done!
Seats in Balcony give good view and great sound. Make sure you are at the front or one of the sides to avoid getting stuck in the middle. It can get awfully hot, and seat rows are tight.
The barstaff are efficient during the intervals and it’s worth queuing up for a refreshment as they manage to serve everyone up.
All in all it gives a pleasant experience.
We came for the Sound of Music and loved it!

This theatre is too celebrity fixed in their cast. They cast singers which can sing, but not act. And that is a shame, since it is a lot of good educated musical artist in Norway.

You have to pay 50 kroners for the wardrobe, which is mandatory. That is not a good thing to do, the tickets are already expensive to buy!

Apart from the actual musical we went to see, which was amazing, I would like to review the venue. The construction of the building was completed in 1935, and was of year 2009 added to the list of Norwegian archaeological and architectural monuments and sites/ cultural heritage, meaning it is protected by law. This gives the venue such a strong character based on its history and protection! It provides a special atmosphere and setting to the scene, and brings so much more to the experience when going to an event.

I suppose having this in mind the inconvenience of the system for coats, toilets and general waiting in line is not so bad after all.

A really nice performance of the play Phantom of the opera in Oslo. The theatre has a is one charm although is bit small when is very crowded. A nice way to spend a nice evening if you like theatre plays.

We were 4 friends who had tickets to the Phantom of the Opera. The show was great and the athmosphere of the theatre is nice. Only negative was the long wait for our jackets.

We got tickets for Phantom of the Opera quite late. We should celebrate 3 peoples birthday. I asked for a table with drinks in the bar, but even though I explained we where celebrating 3 persons birthday, they could not help.
The show was okay, but you should sit in the "main salong" not up in the balconies. It was bad sound, long to see and warm. So it was not a VERY good experience!

One of the more worn theaters in this city. Testifies to the fact that there has once been a great theater, but simple, rigid solutions have been done with maintenance. If it was not for the play as I would see, I would not have chosen to go to this theater. There are terrible long queues outside the theater and there seem to be few toilets in the theater. The queues are very long both before the theater begins and during the break. Poor air in the theater hall.

This well known play attracs modern people in such a way that all shows were sold out soon after release. Even all the extra performances are almost all sold out, but some tickets are still available. Excellent acters performed brilliant. I've never experienced such enthusiastic audience before. In case you have a chance to visit Oslo - ttry to get a ticket!
