We stayed in a 3 bed apartment suitable fior 4 adults, 1 child and a baby. It was very spacious, clean and close to the bus terminus so easy to pick up buses and also trams to move around the city. The block was securely housed in a gated compound and was 5 mins walk from the reception office. All of the blocks we saw were very austere with metal doors and plain corridors but once inside the furniture made it a bit more homely - think student accommodation but without the mess/noise!
The reception staff were brilliant - orgainsed keys quickly, gave us a map for directions, gave tips on nearest supermarkets/takeaways and allowed us to leave cases in reception on our last day after check-out.
I'd agree with other reviwers that unlike Airbnb hosts there was inadequate assistance with the tv, use of washing machine & kitchen equipment and there was nothing left in the cupboards (save for dishwasher tablets) to get you started with tea/coffees etc. I think the mangement need to recognise travellers expectations these days and offer a few "welcoming" touches to the apartments.

To start with the beginning. While we were in the bus to Oslo, I called to ask the exact address from where to pick up the key. It took them half an hour to recognize by booking confirmation. As we arrived in Oslo quite early (10:00) and the guaranteed check in hour is 15:30, we kindly asked if there is any change to leave the luggages somewhere at their office in order to be able to enjoy the city. We were charged 30€ for this, let’s say it’s ok, their location, their rules but nothing to do with customer service in hospitality.
A fact that future guests should know is that they present the apartments as being 700 m away from the buss station. But in this 700 m you have to pass 9 train lines, very uncomfortable if you have many luggages, so I strongly recommend to spend 10-15 € to get an Uber and save your nerves. As we arrived at the apartments building, had another ‘pleasant’ surprise: the elevator was not working, so I had to carry 50 kg of luggage for 5 levels on the stairs.
Still all good until entering the apartment!
Very nice and cozy, spacious, with a well equipped kitchen (did not use it but handy if we wanted to), a small but nice terrace (view to a office building, but more than ok). Bedroom a little too small. In the bathroom had a washing machine and dryer.
So everything ok, BUT VERY VERY DIRTY! Hair everywhere, the dryer was full of water because of the dirty filter, internet was not working, dust and spots on all the surfaces. Obvious that cleaning was skipped, the only thing done right being the clean linen and made beds. They did not even put toilet paper!
I want to specify that we got the key at 13:00, but literally went to the accommodation at 19:00. So that is also the time when I contacted the ‘reception’. Arrogantly, I was told that I should have announce the inconveniences earlier, as the cleaning team finished the shift and it’s nothing they can do about it. I tried to explain that I just got to the room, but no success. And as long as they say the check in can be done until 21:00, it means that by that time they should be able to fix whatever is wrong! I also contacted the booking agency that I used for this 2 nights reservation and I was told that somebody will come next day and fix the issues. Nobody showed up, never!
Not at all a perfect stay, but we still enjoy at maximum the rest of Oslo. The only thing is that we’ll never stay at Bjorvika again and also we recommend to all future visitors to choose wisely their accommodation.
Cleanliness and rudeness of the hotelier staff in all the nordic countries is quite an issue, but here just way too much!!!

The Bjorvika Apartments are managed by a group controlling 200 apartments around Oslo. What we liked about them is the central location, quiet setting, great for doing washing and quite spacious except for the tiny second bedroom. And the staff were actually very friendly and always helpful.
But it could be a much better place for visitors with just a few thoughtful additions:
1. Have a small folder explaining how to work the complex TV and where to find a local supermarket or good coffee shop. For our first visit to Oslo there was nothing to help us settle in.
2. Maybe just have a few coffee or tea bags and a few of those small satchels of milk available for guests when they first arrive. This would cost our hosts nothing, but make a big difference to guests.
3. Maybe provide a map of the local area.
4. Install a small soap holder in the shower. It would be so easy to do and save guests from having to put soap and shampoo etc on the floor of the tiny shower as nowhere else to put them.
These are small issues but would make the experience at these apartments a four star rather than a three star experience.
Oslo is not cheap. These a new and spacious apartments are in a good area. With a little thought they could be the best accommodation available; but not yet.

I am known to provide an honest review based on my own formula to rate hotels which include location, staff, cleanness, diversity, racial discrimination, communication as well as quality of service.
Before I checked into the Bjørvika Apartments I've sent them an email as well as gave them a call , requesting to be as near the city centre as possible ( near the blue Plaza hotel ) and they assured me that the apartment is so close to the hotel it only takes 5 or less to walk , felt very excited and happy about it , cancelled my reservation with the blue raddison hotel and waited for confirmation , at a later stage I found out that we only get the address a day before the arrival which felt a bit strange to me, so I called them again requesting to check in near the hotel since it was my original request and condition , I was met with the same hospitality and been assured that its just 5 minutes
on the day of the arrival , I received an SMS stating the location of the apartment which is 1 km away from the hotel , and even though as a reader you might think this is nothing ,in a very cold winter city every meter can mean a huge difference specially for someone who's on a business trip and not interested in snow or the coldness of the city. I therefor rate this apartment as poor for their lack of communication as well as their misleading promises , I am more than happy to send my confirmation emails to any guest that would like to follow this up or if you want me as a witness to confront booking.com for a refund if needed , by the way if you cancel this apartment you will have to pay the full amount for the entire stay ( very calculated move , staff are very cunning )
they do not allow any early checkin , and people will have to wait hours as the checkin exactly at 15.00 hours , I felt its too much for an apartment , next time , If I ever come to Oslo again I will definitely check in Blue Raddison hotel , have to admit we all make mistakes and I have to pay the price for it now
Regards
Eddie
