This ruin is all that can be seen of a fine old Church and it'd monastery. Fortunately the base stones have been preserved so that you can glean a feeling of the buildings. The Church still in use in the town is thought to be...More

There's no point visiting this on holiday. There's nothing to see, no information or history behind it. Your best clue is to google it. You'll learn a lot more. But the surrounding pak is nice for a walk in the summer.

All the ruins are renovated these days, and it looks like a construction place... Anyway, it wouldn't have been much more interesting if it wasn't. If you want to witness nicer ruins, St. Olav Church (Olavskirken) is about a 10 minute walk away from the...More

Just don't ruin the ruins ;-) It's quite close to some big roads though, sadly, although I can't really remember them irritating me too much. Must've had a too good time every time I was there. It's not fun for looking, but rather for sitting.

This park is located at Oslo's birth place, beneath Ekebergåsen. In recent years it has been opened up for the general audience, and is now part of a very attractive green space area including also a water pond where it is possible to have a...More

Sorry but I am afraid Norway will "loose" these fantastic historical ruins if they do not take more care. Øyafestivalen (Musical festival) at these premises? What? Besides it could have been much more information about the history behind.

About one thousand years ago, culture came to Norway in the form of the catholic church and they started making buildings of stone. The ruins of some of them can be seen in this area. Maybe a good guide could bring them to life, but...More
