About
Sir Winston is a classic English-style pub, centrally located on Karl Johan Street 10, right next to Oslo Cathedral. Since the opening in 1969, (hence the photo of the two serious guys, taking their beer seriously on opening date), we have focused on nice atmosphere, great service and a wide selection of drinks. We are open seven days a week, and with a heated outdoor seating you can enjoy a double latte or a beer while watching people passing by on Oslo's main street. In the weekends we have great piano players, so in the evening we turn up the volume, and get the party started.

Sir Winston's is great - super central to everything in Olso. Pretty cheap drinks for Oslo with a really cozy atmosphere. The service was quick and the crowd was buzzing - fun live music, as well. If you can, get a spot on the front patio and people watch on the main street in Oslo.

We visited one evening to watch the F1 Grand Prix race. Very happy with our visit to the establishment.
The ambiance was fantastic, and the place felt very open and roomy. The service was top notch, and the staff was very helpful and attentive. They made sure every drink tasted to your desires!
The furniture was very comfortable and nice spaced out. The race was available on multiple screens and was easily watched from most locations.
5 stars! Highly recommend for a visit! A+++++

Excellent atmosphere and choice of beers. We went inside to order but sat outside on the sidewalk. There was a smoking area but it was far away from us that it didn't bother us. The bartender was helpful and friendly. No snacks or food here but a nice choice of beers.

Nice bolt hole in a busy city. Good beers, comfy sofas and great tunes! Didn’t eat here but definitely recommend for a drink.

The Sir Winston Churchill is a great place to get a drink in Oslo. Cosy, great atmosphere and with a good range of beers, this is as close to a traditional British pub as you are likely to find in Norway. Obviously well frequented by locals and tourists alike. Prices are not cheap but it is Norway!

I hate TVs and blaring music in bars and stumbled across this civilized establishment to have a beer. They do not serve food and younger people stay away because it is quiet and elegant. The beer is cold and many are on tap with comfortable chairs to sit on. How can life be better than this?

Half way between an English pub and a gentleman's club, this (rather trendy) Oslo venue is well worth visiting for a pint or two.

We stopped by here for drinks on night. It has a really good decor with a strong Victorian theme with tons of relaxing areas to chill out. They had a decent selection of local brews as well as the generic British/Irish pub add ons. Not a bad place to enjoy a couple drinks.

I guess I had two small issues with the pub. Firstly they did not offer any food to go with drinks, and secondly the outdoor seating area was quite cramped.
Yes a nice spot to sit, have a drink and watch the world go by, but I preferred The Scotsman just up the road for service and variety and it also has an outdoor seating area.

The cost of beer and liquor at Sir Winston's was comparable to the price at other pubs and restaurants in Oslo. Everything was expensive in Oslo but we were warned about the high costs before we travelled there so were not surprised. We visited this pub twice and my husband enjoyed the beer and said there was a good selection of liquor as well. Try a shot of "aquavit" a traditional Scandinavian drink. We enjoyed sitting outdoors on the patio under their heaters as the days were cool and damp in early June. The pub/bar is located on the main pedestrian walkway, Karl Johans Gate, so there was always lots of people and activity to watch. When we were in Oslo their outdoor patio was always busy. Enjoy your visit! We loved Oslo and Bergen, lots to see and do!

does the hotel supply beach towels either free or to rent for the duration of your stay?
Written October 23, 2015
Per JAS4805. It is a pub in central Oslo and unlikely to provide beach towels.
