A former industrial site occupied by the Aker mechanical workshops and shipyards, the place was redeveloped in the 1985s into offices and apartment buildings in a modern architectural style using steel, glass, wood and bricks , it is a real success. Pedestrian streets covered between the buildings with many shops, most of them with fashion and design products, but also others shops (gifts item, flowers, shoes, glasses groceries and more ..) At the edge of the fjord, cafes, restaurants and food trucks , floating sauna ..View of Akershus citadel from the dock . At the end of Aker Brygge, it's the the new district of Tjuvholmen, nicknamed the arts district. Several art galleries and art installations and the new Astrup Fearnley Museum. The restaurants in Tjuvholmen are renowned for their high quality and exceptional location. Great view from the museum esplanade over the Oslo Fjord ..Must a visit

This relatively new seaside area has many restaurants, bars, and shops along the boardwalk. It is full of interesting architecture and unique outdoor areas. There are also several galleries and art installations, including the Astrup Fearnley Museum by a sculpture park and a beach.
