Very good may be a stretch here as basically it's a lift with a view at the top.... but... I've been living in Oslo for 4 years. I'd normally recommend that visitors go to the top of the ski jump at Holmenkollen or Ekeberg restaurant to get a view of the city and fjord. This weekend I had a friend visiting and we didn't have time to go to either of those. This lift is a good way to see the same without leaving the city centre. You get about 4 minutes up at the top for 20NOK (which isn't bad) and the inside of the lift details what you can see in each direction. Some things are blocked by the lift itself at times but overall if you are only here for a short time you should do this to get a feel for the layout of the city and the fjord.

Great view over the water and back towards the city....nice that it speeds up to near the top then slows to a crawl for the last 10-20 metres or so. Worth a visit on a clear day

If you are visiting Tjuvholmen in the summer season, Tjuvtitten is worth a visit. Tjuvtitten is a glass elevator which takes you about 50 metres up in the air. Here you'll have a unique view over Oslo and the fjord. Entrance is cheap, it's20 NOK. You'll have about 15 minutes in the elevator. I highly recommend this attraction!

I'd choose other ways for free to see the view other the fjord. But it's still a good feature to have in this new area.
