It was my first visit and I was surprised how nice it was here. These are well-maintained hiking trails with a rich birdlife. There are several hiking trails that go on in different directions from here, the possibilities are many.

It was a nice walking around. Very quiet and attractive for biking and jogging. It's easy to get there and has many side routes with amazing views

This is probably the nicest walk you can take and still being so close to the city. The walk takes about 45 minutes to an hour, depending if you take the gravel road or the scenic route through the forest. Only 12min with the tube (Metro station Skøyenåsen on the 3rd line towards Mortensrud) from Oslo central station, you'll reach Østensjøvannet. This lake is a natural park where thousands of birds of all type stop by (and for many of them get their little ones) on their way down south or up north depending on the season. Nice walk around... A nice area to go for a walk or jog around. For me, I like the 4 km walk around this lake, taking photos of birds, relaxing and enjoing the nature. Lots of geese and ducks, but also, many many others, if you just try to look for them :-)

A smal lake in the eastern part of Oslo, you can go there by buss and walk around the smal lake. A lot of birds especially in spring time.
