definitely worth a visit and its a convenient location in the city center. Bit confusing to locate so check a map. Strong variety and range of art. Munch gallery is a very presentation of his major works. Also, I enjoyed the grouping of modern masters....More

The special exhibition, "Japan Mania", alone made the entry fee to this museum worthwhile. Though Munch's "Scream", of course, is a big attraction, there are many other great paintings both by international and Norwegian artists that make this a key attraction.

I confess that I mainly went to see "The scream" but I was surprised at the vast collections in this museum. We took an audio tour which needs to be updated as some of the paintings that they showed were not in the location that...More

The art on display was so beautiful and this Gallery contained works from some very impressive painters. The range was from Classical Renaissance to Contemporary. There were a lot of my personal favorite, the Impressionists. The original "Scream" is also housed here and a "must...More

Really enjoyed this gallery. It is nicely sized and well laid out. Great set of international and Norwegian classics as well as an excellent Japonmania exhibition which was an added bonus.

Lovely gallery. Important pictures are in there from Manet, Monet and Chezanne. But the main painter is Munch with his famous "The Scream". Nice and quite place to relax and to love Art.

Excellent display of Norwegian art dating from the 18th century to the present. The highlight of the exposition os Edvar Munck's painting of the "Scream" Other art is reflective of Norwegian arrists who studied impressionism in Paris.

By arriving at the opening time of 11am, we had Munch's The Scream all to ourselves. But that's not the only attraction. The collection includes some other great works by Monet, Manet, Gauguin and others. Well worth a visit.

Lots of great works of art here from the likes of Money, Cezanne, Picasso and of course, Munch. The Japanomania exhibition was an added bonus although some of the links to other non-Japanese artists seemed a tad spurious but apart from that it's well worth...More

I have visited several museums globally and this museum seemed quite average. Only saving grace is that the ticket for the museum is inclusive with the Viking museum ticket.

You can jump into the last hall where the famous Scream and Mund's paintings are. Cannot remember if it is room 23 or 25. You can ask the staff along the hall there but I don't think I saw any leaflet suggesting the top... More
