The National Theatre (Nationaltheatret) of Oslo is situated in a beautiful building. Close to other attractions it is a must see when in Oslo.

We were staying at the BEST WESTERN Karl Johan Hotell in Olso, just across the street from the National Theater. Stopped in to see what was going on - a contemporary production of Ibsen's Peer Gynt in Norwegian. The ticket agent said if we showed...More

The Nationaltheatret is placed in the heart of Oslo very close to the palace and is also surrounded by wonderful walking areas. The pleasantness of the area is enough for me to recommend it to any visitor.

Architecture of the building is amazing. It looks great from each angle. Just walk around and admire various sculptures and flowers. By the entrance to the station there is a lovely dandelion-like fountain.

We walked by the Theater on our last night in Oslo and wished we saw it earlier. That building is beautiful and I especially love the front of it with the beautiful columns. Very pretty architecture and well worth stopping by.

This is a grand building which I could imagine had seen many years of pomp and grandeur. If one walks the full round around the theater, one can appreciate the full beauty of the architecture. The interiors look older though and not as grand.
