Doing the Norway in a Nutshell tour was amazing. The scenery was breathtaking and the boat ride in the third was nice. Luckily, it was sunny and the temperature was mild the day we did the tour, so it worked out well for us and we saw a lot.

“The gladdest moment in human life, me thinks, is a departure into unknown lands.” – Sir Richard Burton We highly recommend relying on Norway in a Nutshell to plan tours of the fjords and west coast of this spectacular Scandinavian country. One cannot visit Norway without setting aside time to visit the ancient glaciers, mountain sides and waterways. There are... More

Overall the trip was great as already described by many others here. We did it in winter and so there are far less people - getting seats and great views on all modes of transportation is not a problem (downside: if you do the whole trip in one day the bus drive will be in the dark). I would highly... More

We booked our tour in advance and were amazed at how easy everything went. From collecting our tickets at the Oslo station to the hotels booked in advance for us. I would really love to do this tour in spring/summer some day, but the winter trip was just so fantastic! We loved every minute of it.

TLDR; get at least one day of rest in Oslo or Bergen before doing this, if coming from overseas. The trip is about 14 hours, so be ready for that!. Break it up into two days if you can (the buss ride through Voss is so nice, and I missed most of it from being so tired!). Be friendly and... More

This was an extremely long day. It was a total of 14 hours from Bergen to Oslo. We were dragging our luggage the whole way. The cruise and train in flam were the only good things. There must be a more time efficient way to see these things

Hi, thanks for your feedback. Not sure which travel route you took since the tour does not take 14 hours from Bergen to Oslo, -but hopefully you enjoyed the great views though! Take care, thanks! Best wishes, Preben Social Media Manager Fjord Tours More

Amazing day trip for the family. Such a beautiful way to capture the beauty of Norway. With the exception of the crowded train portion at the beginning and end of the trip this was a a great experience. The bus ride and fjord boat ride was breathtaking. We had great seats for the Flam railway. It was hard not to... More

We were there in October and the weather was about to get colder. We decided to take the tour that departs from Bergen by rail to Voss and then changed to a bus ride to Gudvangen and the Fjord Cruise departs from Gudvangen. The cruise is for 2 hours. I would say get a seat inside where you are comfortable... More

I had very high expectations for this tour very well positioned in the ranking, but the experience was horrible. Although the fjords and landscapes are amazing, the experience was not good at all. Took the Norway in a nutshell from Bergen to take advantage as much as possible of the fjords with natural light, the sun in December is around... More

Not recommended to take norway in a nutshell in winter because of the short daylight. The beautiful flam railway ride from Myrdal to flam is mesmerizing but the ferry after, which is supposedly scenic for the fjords was an utter disappointment. The bus ride was in full darkness as well. In winter, best to break up the trip or just... More

Hi, So sorry to hear we did not meet your expectations this time. The tour is beautiful in winter time, but yes, it gets dark early in the afternoon so if you have the chance, we advise to take the multiple days tour in the winter season. Hopefully we will see you back with us some time (summer) so we... More
