I had a wonderful experience with Norrøna Hvitserk through the whole process of my adventure. They were great at answering all my questions before hand and helping me pick the best trip for me. The guides on the tour were local and so kind and knowledgeable and really made the experience special. The hikes selected were truly spectacular and are something I will remember for a lifetime. The team will really will go above and beyond every single step of the way and I cannot recommend highly enough.

Wonderful hiking trip we booked last minute due to travel restrictions. Our guide, Morten Johansen was the best possible company for such a trip, he has great conversation and patience for non experimented hikers. Every cabin was charming, and food delicious. We will definitely repeat the experience. Norway is hiking paradise.

We went with Bjorn for the tour which included trolltunga, Kjerag and pulpit’s rock. 5 days of continuous hiking was difficult but made enjoyable by the amazing group and guide we had. Bjørn was knowledgeable of the area and made sure we always had sunshine in our hearts despite the Norwegian weather (rain, hail, and rainbows!). Accommodation and food were fantastic with 3 course dinners for most evenings. We were treated to a warm meal on Pulpit’s rock, which was really special! Couldn’t recommend this company enough! A must for adventure-seekers :)

My partner and I did the Hiking, biking and kayaking in the Norwegian Fjords trip in August with guides Elise and Marit and a really nice group of 15 people, singles, couples and families, from North America, the UK and Russia.

It rained heavily for a good part of the week and we were both ill... but this is still one of the best adventures we have been on! Hopefully this gives some measure of how good this trip was.

We loved the glacier walk at Finse. We got every type of weather including snow in August and lots of rainbows which added to the experience. The glacier guides were fun, informative and professional. They made us feel 'extreme' using ropes, crampons and ice axes but never unsafe. The rugged, wild landscape of the high Norwegian plateau was captivating, not unlike the arctic tundra and we even saw an arctic fox.

The mountain bike ride down the navvies road was great fun - we got lucky with the weather that day which provided fantastic views throughout. Following the train line off the plateau and down the fjords it was fascinating to watch the landscape slowly change and feel the temperature rise. Slowly the trees appear then get bigger and bigger as you approach the sea fjord at Flam.

We got a taste of true western fjord Norway weather the next day with persistent heavy rain. This did not stop us hiking up the mountain high above the fjord at Aurland. We still had great fun and the views were spectacular in their own moody, atmospheric rainy way.

Then the kayaking. A real adventure off two days point to point journey around the fjord with camping in between. Be warned this is not glamping! You pack in, erect, dismantle and pack out your own tents and use 'authentic' camp toilets. This was a character building day for me here as I awoke in camp to a 24 hour sickness. The guides and the group did an excellent job of keeping my spirits up and getting me through the day on the kayak.

All too soon we were catching the beautiful Flam railway up the valley and the trip was over.

The hotels in Finse and Aurland were both full of character and comfortable. The rooms were spacious and clean with comfy beds, private bathrooms and good hot showers. The views and surroundings at both hotels were very good as was breakfast and the evening meals. Lunch was typically sandwiches which you prepare at the breakfast buffet.

We flew in to Bergen and out of Oslo and can recommend both cities. The railway from Bergen to Oslo overs fantastic views of Norway. The seats are big and comfortable in both komfort and standard class and the views are good on both sides of train..

Do follow Hvitserks packing advice and take plenty of good waterproof gear and thin warm layers. I never thought anywhere could be wetter then the western UK but I was wrong!

Physically you are active every day but there are plenty of stops, feeds and rests. You do not need to be an mega ultra endurance athlete to participate.

We loved Norway, everything is pristine in both town and country and we found the people very welcoming. There is however no getting away from the fact that it is hideously expensive (especially for beer - £10+) for us from the UK. However you don't have much to pay for on this trip after the initial outlay.

Aside from the country being fantastic what really made our trip so great was a lovely group and fantastic guides. Elise and Marit were knowledgeable, professional and also great fun. They also gave us a lot of advice on future trips and activities both summer and winter that we can do in Norway. I have to admit I am somewhat envious of their outdoor lifestyle! My partner and I were quite high maintenance at times suffering cold viruses and sickness but Elise and Marit did a great job of looking after us and keeping spirits high.

You won't regret booking this trip!

Recently I had the immense pleasure to go on the Hike Trolltunga, Preikestolen and Kjerag with Hvitserk of Norway. I saw the tour online and immediately thought it looked incredible. I love adventure/hiking holidays and if you are the same you will not be disappointed. The trip exceeded my expectations. It was just an amazing tour from start to finish.
Hvitserk sent a detailed list of equipment needed together with hints and ideas for staying in Oslo prior to the trip.
Our tour guide Laine was one in a million. She really is an asset to this company.
To do this tour you need to have a good level of fitness.
If you are interested in doing a hiking tour of Norway, Hvitserk of Norway is the company to travel with.
I would highly recommend them.
You will come away from the tour wishing it had never ended.
It really is a trip of a lifetime.

I did this tour on my own, a woman in my early 60s. Our group of 10 ranged in age from mid-20s to 60s, plus a family with two teen-age children. Our two guides were very attentive and helpful for whatever needs arose, and the tour was very well-organized. Each day had many hours of activity which I found invigorating physically, and occasionally challenging emotionally, when the activity involved something especially challenging or mildly risky (i.e., glacier walk, mountain biking on rocky terrain, kayaking in the fjord - the latter not really risky except in my overly vigilant mind). The first two days in Finse are in a striking, moonscape-like setting. On the biking day, I opted to take the very short train ride which lets one avoid the most difficult part of the trip, but still involves many hours of biking through the most beautiful landscape I have ever experienced, with rushing streams and waterfalls of varied luminous blue hues, forested mountainsides, etc. The kayaking in the fjords is beautiful, the camping site is magical, and the final day of hiking involved incredible views and communing with many adorable goats (there were actually multiple goat encounters throughout the trip - wonderful, friendly creatures). As far as accommodations, the Finse hotel is very beautiful (looks rustic on the outside, with lovely public spaces with amazing views on the inside), and the Aurland guest house is also very nice. The food was more than adequate. This is the way to experience Norway, if you are physically up to it. When we very occasionally passed through a spot with tourists, the contrast between the typical tourist experience and the one afforded by this tour was striking and I felt very grateful to be part of it.

We did the multi activity trip - hiking on mountains and on a glacier, mountain biking down the Navvies Road from Finse to Flam, and a 2 day overnight kayaking trip including wild camping at the side of the Fjord.
We thoroughly enjoyed everything on the trip. The locations visited were superb, the pre-trip organisation was good, the hotels and food provided was excellent. We were incredibly lucky with our 11 person group - we all got on very well.
The aspect that made the trip though was our 2 guides Elise and Frieda who couldn’t have been more helpful and caring for the whole group.
Couldn’t recommend them and the trip more highly.

I joined the "Bergen, Trolltunga and the Best Hikes in the Norwegian Fjords" trip in June as I wanted to tick off my bucket list item of completing the Trolltunga hike.
I was delighted to discover that it wasn't my favourite hike on the trip! We experienced so much in a short period of time (6 days) and I loved every minute of it.

The accommodation was of a very high standard and dinner every night was exceptional. My only criticism is that maybe the dinners were a bit too fancy and was too much of a contrast to a day of hiking.

Our guide, Frank, was great! He had a great sense of humour and made everyone comfortable, which is important on small group trips.

I would highly recommend this trip for those looking for a hiking holiday.

Recently completed the 6-day/5-night "Bergen, Trolltunga and the Best Hikes in the Norwegian Fjords" trip. It was great. Some hikes were more challenging than others, but all were worth the effort with plenty of amazing things to see. The small group size (6 + our guide) was a refreshing change to some larger groups. Our guide, Frank, was very knowledgeable of the routes and Norwegian history/culture. Hvitserk coordinated with each of the 3 hotels in advance to accommodate various diet restrictions in the group. I recommend them to anyone who enjoys active vacations.

I did the Trolltunga, Preikestolen and Kjerag trip in June and had an amazing time! Bjornar was an incredible guide and the trip was extremely well planned out. Accommodation was fantastic, food was delicious, and the days were mapped out perfectly. It helped that we had perfect weather. I was super impressed with Hvitserk and plan on taking another trip with them soon.
