No doubt Norway is known for their FREIA chocolates and it is in fact very popular amongst the locals too (if you observe, you will notice the locals buying/ eating the smaller chocolate bar). If you’re looking to buy some back home as souvenir, I recommend that you buy it off the local supermarket such as EXTRA or KIWI (it’s pretty common and I’m sure you will stumbled onto it). The 200g milk chocolate bar is only NOK30 but the Freia boutique sells all their 200g bar at NOK40. For the other flavors (nuts, etc...) the price at the local supermarket is rather close to the boutique at NOK39.

A cute chocolate shop on Karl Johans Gate, close to the Grand Hotel, selling products of the Norwegian confectioner founded in 1889. They are famous for their Freia Melkesjokolade (milk chocolate) bar. We bought one and it was delicious. Also check out the historic Freia neon sign a short distance up Karl Johans Gate toward the central train station (above a Zara store), which dates to 1911.

It's not very big, but I was able to stock up on some gifts to take home at reasonable prices, so I was happy. They also have a fairly large section where you can bag your own selection, so you can sample lots of different types to your specific taste.

Some are good, but pricey. The milk choc range can easily be cheaper in their local supermarkets. So do check the supermarkets before heading here

The service was ok but the selection limited. I wanted to take back some gifts for my business associates. Prices we're very high so I expected some very good chocolate. I kept a small box for myself and was disappointed in the quality and flavor
