We made this tour just when we arrived and it really was a good idea !!!
Since the company is brand new, we were just the two of us and it was a luxury...

Bernhard is really nice and knows a lot of things ! We visited the main streets of Tromsø and learned about its history. A good point is to visit the polar museum with a guide (the entrance is included in the price of the tour !) since not everything there is translated from Norvegian to English... We also had a good beer in Ølhallen (which is not included in the price but the price of the tour is so cheap that you understand why).

Globally, this tour is excellent : a very nice and good guide, lot of informations and nice places to visit, not a "mass-tourism-company" and it is really cheap (249 NOK per person) compared to other activities !!!!! You even get a discount if you buy for 2 or 3 people !

Don't hesitate and go for it :)

The essential Tromso tour was very informative regarding the history of Tromso. We would not have known the pioneers of this area without the tour. The included tour of the Polar museum helped us to understand the people in this area and how they survived above the arctic circle for hundreds of years. Our tour guide, Bernhard was very knowledgeable and answered our many questions. Bernhard has an appreciation and passion for Tromso that made us want to come back and see more of this great city! We highly recommend this tour as one of the first activities you do in Tromso to get oriented to the city and learn about it's arctic history. Thank you Bernhard!

A lovely walking tour through the city centre with entrance to the Polar museum included in the price - very good value for Tromso prices. Guide Bernhadt (I think) was very knowledgeable, especially on dates and gave a great history of North Norway, the Polar regions, explorers and the growth of the town. Ended in a cosy pub - the oldest in Tromso, what more could you ask?

I took this tour on Saturday, 10 of march, which unfortunately turned out to be disappointing. The name of our guide was Lian, or Liam, or something like that.
I don´t think that a guide has to be the most extroverted and smiling person on earth, but ours made it impossible for me to enjoy the tour. His explanations were often way too short, and although he has been a guide for 7 years in Tromsø (or at least he told us so), I don´t have the feeling I learned something new.
Probably, and seeing the other reviews, it would have been a great tour with another guide, but ours seemed like he was just annoyed from the beginning on.

We asked about walking tours at the Tromso Information Center and were told about this new tour company. Run by an experienced tour guide, we were lucky enough to be the only people on the tour (it was snowing pretty hard...). Bernhard took us on a tour of Tromso with lots of interesting bits of information, and we toured the Polar Museum (included) and Ohallens Pub. We learned a lot about Tromso and also alot about how it is to live in Tromso. GO WITH BERNHARD, he's great!

Bernhard took a small group of us to several microbreweries and a craft beer bar. He was interesting and engaging and certainly knew a lot about local history, and about beer (he is a brewer). He and I may have to differ on strongly-hopped IPAs though!

Seriously, this is a great tour if you want a quiet walk around Tromsø with an experienced and knowledgable guide, and sample the odd beer on the way.

The tour starts with a short stroll of about a kilometer. Starting at a statue of Amundsen and thus returing to the quaiside. Here you walk through a seafood restaurand, look at an aquarium and go on to the polar museum. We thought about exiting the group at this point as this was really rediculous. We stayed and got a really good tour of the polar museum for about 1-1,5 hrs. Here our guide had really good in-depth information making i really interesing to listen. The walk bak was again rather short with onlt few interesting information ending up in the MACK brewery pub.
At the end were quite disappointed. Although we knew up front that the tour included a visit to the museum we did not expect it to be the only really substantial part of the tour. 3 stars in totat due to the really good info at the museum but the rest of the tour was 1 star at best. This should not claim to be a city walk but a museum tour as this is basically what it is.

I had an amazing time with our guide Håvar, all 10 of us in this safari with him all have to agree, Håvar is an 5 stars safari leader in Thomso!

He guides us through the city, three different bars, 10 different beers and shared his knowledge, experience and the history of Scandinavian beer!

If you have one afternoon in Thomso, you got to book this Beer safari! Worth of every penny and the time spent!

The tour lead by Bernhard was both very informative and entertaining, as he is a great story teller. We were in Tromsø just for one day and the tour enabled us to get an excellent overview of old town, history and the famous arctic explorers. Thank you Bernhard!

This was a walking tour to 3 different pubs, with so much great information and history about Tromso! We sampled 10 different beers, and ended with a sampler of 4 different Norwegian dishes. Delicious food and beer! Bernhart was our guide, and very knowledgeable
