Thank you Anthony for such a wonderful day. He was upbeat, smiley, friendly, helpful- relaxed- and took lots of photos to share with the group. The snowshoeing was beautiful, about two hours of snowshoeing, and then lovely stops to see the fjords and mountains. I would definitely recommend this tour.

The snowshoe hike was amazing! Even though the weather was snowy and windy. Ellie was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The terrain was not too difficult even though it was the first time I tried snowshoeing. The lunch we had nice sandwiches and hot tea/ chocolate in lavvu, which is a nice place that can let us hide from the snow and wind.
The whole trip I enjoyed.
High recommend!!!

I definetely do not recommed this agency. Due to the hogh score they have at Viator, I was really expecting a good service, but this ended up being the worst of the 3 aurora hunting companies we used while in Tromsø. They did not have warm suits and shoes to everybody, so you need to be quick when you arrive at the aurora watching spot to secure yours. We managed to get ours, but the shoes ended up not being as good as those of other operators we have tried and we got litterally cold feet. But the worst was that they sold the hunting experience to a couple that HAD to be back in Tromsø before 1 o'clock for joining a boat. The other days the operators went back to the city with us 3 and 2 o'clock in the morning because this was the time aurora took to appear on the sky. The aurora does not respect appointements as you may imagine. This agency gambled and took the chance that aurora would appear early on that night. Of course, had they told us this beforehand we would never have joined them as we paid for a full hunting experience not half experience. End of story: The aurora tok longer time to appear than the appoitment they had with the aforementioned other customers and abreviated our experience dropping us at the hotel shortly after midnight (extremelly early for the standards aurora hunts have) in the middle of the aurora show. We were in the car for most of it, not even stopping for analysing the clouds and searching for a clean piece of sky for watching the aurora as the situation required; of course not as they did not have time due to the aforementioned boat departure. We were only able to see the end of the aurora show duly faded by the lights from both the city and Tromsø harbor, that is where our hotel was located. They not even dared to bring us to a dark spot after arrival in Tromsø for watching the show. Finally, the driver-hunter (differently from the other operators we tried it was only one person cumulating both the functions as driver and aurora hunter, of course, not without compromising his ability to follow up the movement of the clouds in the sky) was more worried with the return time than with finding a spot for the aurora. When we were approaching Tromsø and aurora was starting its show, he did not stopped the car to see for a spot close to the city for us to stay, but was very eager to come back to the city in time for the boat of our fellow travelers and to deposit us at our hotel asap. I definitely do not recommend this agency.

Hello Dimaciel, Thank you for valuable and really thorough feedback. We have discussed it further with our team to enure that it will help us grow and perfect our tours. First of all, we admit there was a minor mix up with equipment packed, and two suits were missing. We have checked with our logistics team to find out why did it happen, even though we have appropriate procedures in place. It was a human error. We apologise for an inconvenience it have caused. The last thing we want is for our guests not to feel comfortable in the wilderness. We do generally pride ourselves with being able to consistently provide well organised experiences for our valued guests. Aurora Hunt duration varies, and can be anytime between 5-8 hours. It is mostly impacted by how far we have to drive to find the clear skies. It can be any time between an hour one way (if we drive towards the coast) or 3+ hours if we have to drive as far as Finland. Based on the environmental conditions assessment, we knew that that night coastal are gives the best opportunity of finding clear skies, hence the return time will be earlier. The forecast across the whole coast was predicting early gaps in the clouds and the conditions consistently worsening, to 100% cloud coverage later in the night. The best strategy for the nights like this is keeping the drive time as short as possible (as otherwise we would be risking the gaps closing before we arrive at the spot away from the light pollution where we can camp). Forecasting here, as anywhere in the world, may turn out to be incorrect and the sky have cleared up later in the night. On a regular basis, we cannot accommodate guest that have a strict return time to Tromsø. This time we have made an exception, having in mind best interest of our guests. The decision was dictated by 1) environmental conditions assessment - we had solid grounds to believe that we will be back by 1am anyway, and other guests will not miss on the experience, 2) the tour was on the verge of not meeting the minimum number of participants. We have a consistent ratio of one team member per the maximum of eight guests, which is lower than many tour operators. Since you were traveling a very small group, your guide was also driving. We know that this way we can offer a unique, cosy and personal experience. Once again, we would like to thank you for taking time to share feedback with us. We hope to see you again and provide you with an excellent experience.

It was snowing hard in and around Tromsø, so Florian drove us three hours to Finland. We found clear skies and a once in a lifetime show from the Northern Lights! Florian was very friendly and knowledgeable, plus the soup was delicious. Can't recommend enough!

About an hour after leaving our pickup point we were hit with a heavy downfall of snow which had some of us thinking we may need to turn back (or at the very least settle for a closer location) but Flo was determined to get us to our viewing point! We arrived at our spot in Finland approximately 3 hours after departing from Tromsø. A small lake bordering Sweden with perfect visibility in every direction. He set up “camp” which consisted of a campfire, stools, and some coolers. After an hour of viewing the spectacular light show we huddled up for a quick snack which consisted of a thermos hearty soup and a cookie, as well as a mug of rich hot chocolate. At this point Flo educated us on the science around the lights and how he’s able to determine the best viewing locations to check out. We headed back around midnight and were dropped off around 3:00 am. This had certainly been the best tour I’ve had here! Great lights, great company! Thanks Florian!

Pros:
- Thermal Suits
- Flo is an excellent photographer who took great photos of us
- Knowledgeable and helpful guide

No cons!

This is an excellent tour and I highly recommend it. The northern lights are very elusive. Our tor guide Virgil knew the best spots to see them based on the conditions. We were on a cruise and most of the other groups that went out that night saw nothing. On our last stop with Virgil, we saw them.He also knows the best, most scenic spots in the area. To top it off, he is a gifted photographer and his photos were amazing.

We left Tromso in heavy snow. The guides had checked the weather conditions for the whole of north Norway, Finland & Sweden and decided that Finland would be the best location for us to experience the Aurora. It took around 3hours (with a comfort break) to arrive at our location which was a frozen lake. We were provided with insulated suits and boots and walked about 200m onto the frozen lake. There were at first a few glimmers in the sky followed by around 2 hours of amazing ribbons of green & purple lights. The guide helped me set my camera up for the best results and provided a tripod for the long exposure photographs. We had soup, coffee & hot chocolate around a fire to help keep us warm in the -8C to -10C temperatures. You will need several warm layers and a ideally a soft shell jacket to keep warm.
The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The driver was calm and confident in the snowy conditions.
I would thoroughly recommend this tour!

Hello there! Thank you so much for this detailed review! The weather conditions in the Arctic, especially in the Tromsø area can be very unpredictable and change within minutes. Thanks to our experience and knowledge of the area, we are able to find the gaps in the clouds and the best spots to see the Aurora. We are so happy you recognized what it takes to pull off an Aurora hunt like this one and that you enjoyed the tour :) It has been a pleasure having you on our tour and we hope to meet you again another time!

"There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes."
This. One hundred percent this! Dress for the cold, although boots and a thermal suit are provided, you should still be prepared for the cold!

Coen and Martin were our guides and they were so informative and were very aware of our well being! Coen answered questions regarding the aurora and did a thorough job of explaining what to expect. He also made sure to take pictures at the most opportune times with the aurora. Martin went the extra mile to help me personally with my camera settings, as he noticed that I was using too long of an exposure.

Last but not least, the hot chocolate really is something to be appreciated.

Hello Peter, Thank you for your review. We are happy that the patience and waiting for the Aurora paid off! It is often not possible to know when exactly the lights will appear nor for how long, but Max is an expert at using every chance to stop on the way and capture them. We hope to welcome you back to Tromsø one day!
