Small group Northern Lights tour - All inclusive - Northern Horizon

It can be time-consuming trying to research the best Northern Lights viewing spots according to the weather conditions. Save time, and let an expert do the hard work instead, on this small-group Northern Lights tour. Relax and enjoy the natural wonder of the Aurora Borealis from a clear vantage point while sipping hot chocolate and grilling sausages over a fire.

Tromsø Tourist Information! this is ridiculous! The government promotes domestic tourism, but the tourist information closed at 4 pm on weekdays and closed on the weekends! I thought this was high season!

We arrived by Hurtigruten cruise and proceed straight to this so called "Tourist Information" seeking for directions to our hotel in Tromso. Everyone there answered that they are only responsible for the sales of their respective tours and not sure about direction to our hotel. I guess is not sure but rather not willing to assist. !!! This place should focus on assisting tourist (truly providing tourist information) and not only focus on tour sales.

Modern and well equipped in the centre of Tromsø, the tourist information office is located on the first floor of the city centre port terminal. The staff are excellent and extremely helpful. Part of the complex has private excursion operators in addition to the normal facilities. Be advised to obtain a queue ticket (similar to a supermarket deli counter ticket) as there is normally a long queue for an agent, especially when cruise ships are in port. This is also applicable for purchases as well as questions. Furthermore, the staff were very prompt in replying to an email question.

Tromso is promoted as a good place to see the Northern Lights. The second night we were there we did a very expensive Northern Lights tour. Saw nothing. Drove around all night but was too cloudy. Fair enough we understand you can be unlucky. The problem was the company knew the cloud was too thick to see anything and still they took our money and made a show of driving around pretending to look for the lights. If you want to see the Northern Lights dont go to Tromso. Its not tourist friendly, signage/parking impossible to understand and the city fines you even when there are no signs saying dont park. We had a Hertz rental car and they did not explain any of the traffic regulations, avoid this rental company. The footpaths across the city are covered in ice and we saw many fall and hurt themselves badly. Avoid Tromso, go to Iceland. We saw the Northern Lights on the first night and the people are much more friendly.
