We joined Terje and Wilma on a tour to chase the northern lights early March (only just got to writing the review!) and it was absolutely fantastic! Terje is so knowledgable whether that’s about northern lights or photography (or even baking!). He took some great pictures of us and the lights and was very quick to email them to us. We went to 5 spots that night and were blessed and lucky to have seen the magnificent aurora dance away. We heard great stories along the way including myths in Norway. We were even treated with amazing hot chocolate and one of the best home made Victoria sponge cake I’ve had! Thanks for an amazing tour - our northern lights experience was fantastic all thanks to you!

To say that Terje and Welma took customer service seriously would be an understatement. They truly worked to make sure that every thing on our list was checked off and that when it was checked off it was done so with a high quality experience. Terje was very knowledgeable on our hunt for the Northern Lights. His knowledge about photography was very helpful. His photos turned out amazing! The show we saw of the lights was spectacular. Honestly the whole team was great. Welma our guide on our Northern Lights hunt was very attentive to all of us making sure we had hot cocoa and offered that we had warm boots and snowsuits on if needed. She shared various stories, myths related to the northern lights and answered all our questions. Together they made the whole experience very personal. It was all the little details that added up to the perfect Tromso, Northern Lights experience. I would highly recommend them again to any of my friends and family and if I make the trip again I will be sure to call them first! They have exceeded our level of expectation of them and were very professional indeed! When I booked the tour, I was expecting us to just hop on the bus, travel to the location and wait for lady aurora to appear overhead. Boy, I was amazed at their level of enthusiasm from the minute we meet up till the end. Fully organized, experienced and to me, personalized indeed. Thumbs up for the team! Definitely recommended. Oh and the cake, definitely one of the best I have had!

This is run by the original Northern Lights Hunter, Terje and he is excellent. If the lights are out to be seen (nature is unpredictable and activity not guaranteed!) he will take you to places with ultimate viewing. Give yourself at least 4/5 days (better with no moon) because weather conditions can prevent you from seeing the lights. Also check the season. When on the tour be prepared for a bit of waiting around in the cold. Double thermal socks and super warm clothes are a must so be prepared. We planned as well as we could and we were very lucky! *Photos taken by Terje*

We booked onto the tour that day. We wanted to be sure the overall conditions were promising before committing to an expensive trip. This one actually was similar in price to the big coach trips. Our family of 4 were joined by just one other guest. There is a main driver (Terje) with his decade of touring experience, and our guide was Wilma. We drove quite a long way out, frustrated by unexpected and persistent cloud. We stopped a couple of times, and got the briefest glimpses of the lights - but in truth, nothing more than whispy cloudlike traces. They asked if we minded driving further as they felt they could get beyond the cloud. We were of course happy to do so. Eventually, shortly before midnight we found a clear spot - and within a short time, the sky started to light up. We had around 10-15 minutes of intense and unforgettably activity. Green, pink, purple - I had wanted to try to learn how to photograph it, but the sky was so beautiful, I just watched. My photos would never have done it justice, and if you obsess with looking through the camera, you would miss so much. Thankfully, Terje was there with his tripod and photographic expertise capturing it all for us. The whole light show was mind-blowing. We then had hot chocolate, and they got sledges out for our kids to sledge at midnight. We had a family photo shot by Terje with the lights in the background. We got dropped directly to our hotel after 1am. The lights are fickle, and always there is a big dollop of luck. We were lucky. However, over breakfast the next day, we heard of many who had not seen the lights very well, while we did. Terje's perseverence and experience ensured we had our best shot, and nature took care of the rest. We emailed Terje from the room to establish contact once he'd dropped us off, and he had sent over 9 outstanding images (no extra charge) before breakfast the next day. Our Norway holiday was outstanding - this was by far, the best part of it. Thank you Northern Lights Hunter!
