The brewery stories are fascinating. Much of the tour is a video from one of the previous directors for this 7-generation-run brewery. He discussed much of the brewery's history from the 1800's up to nearly present day (he started working there as a lad in the early 1900's). The Brewery is the furthest north brewery in the world, and it... More

The Mack brewery had moved out of Tromsø. We had a enthusiastic guide. She told about the beer and her work as a brewer. The tour includes a movie about the history of the brewery. Only 2 small tastings. Why not give 4?

As other reviewers have mentioned, the Mack brewery had moved out of Tromsø, so the tour in the old vaults are mostly an education about how beer is made and packaged, listening to the guide. There's is also a very interesting movie about the history of the Mack brewery. At the end of the tour, you get to see the... More

The beer hall is fun to visit with incredible number of taps and lots of memorabilia. They close at 10 pm and must close the taps at 9:30, so we missed samples. The buildings across the street are now empty, so maybe they give tours of the old brewery, but it is not functioning.

The 1 hour tour was not worth the 170 nok. 20 minute movie about the company, they then gave a "degustation" which is a tiny glass of one of their beers, then talking about the bottling of their water and the new beer kegs. Briefly talked about the ingredients of their beers and and quick show of the microbrewery. Finished... More

You have to buy tickets 10 minutes before the tour so they actually can see if there is enough people to even organize a tour. The cheapest ticket is 170 NOK (about 17 eur), and you get to taste one beer and in Ollhalen pub you get another one. But they're like the very small cups, and we expected a... More

We stopped in right before lunch to see the place. Bartender was very helpful in helping us decide which beers to try. Cozy atmosphere.

We went here right before we had to leave for the airport. Everyone behind the counter was very helpful about which kind of beer we would like. They were spot on! The place itself is cozy and perfect to chill out after a long day of sightseeing. There's a nice mix of tourist and locals. Would go again!

I really liked the atmosphere in the bar, there is lots of traditional Norwegian memorabilia scattered around and of course the huge polar bear! The selection of beer is fantastic and there are a range of glass sizes to suit everyone!
