It was snowing when I visited Polaria. I am amazed by the building structure which replicate icebergs.

The building itself is great. It has lots of animals and sea plants, but the main reason we went there was the seals and it was so worth it. They are beautiful and they take so good care of them.

Easy to access and easy to visit. You begin with a short movie, which might be the best part. The other parts are quickly visited, but you may want look at the live fish and seals a bit longer. Luckily not over priced. Nice little shop.

The museum is full of tanks with Arctic flora and fauna, presented in a really fascinating way. The seal training was not a 'show', it was for the seals to be stimulated and exercised and was both very interesting and humane. The research papers were printed on the wall and are worth a read. Best place to visit in Tromsø!

Outstanding for us were the two film shows in the panoramic theatre. The first was an introduction to the wildlife and natural surroundings of Svalbard. Some of the camera work takes your breath away, especially as it covers 5 massive screens. The second was a really informative and visually beautiful introduction to the Northern Lights. You then walk through various... More

This museum had an amazing video of Svalbard - Longyearbyen. It also houses an aquarium containing four seals. Was a bit disappointed as this area is very small and the crowds are obviously too big for everyone to see well. Get there early for the 12.30 and 3.00pm daily feeding. Souvenir shop and cafe on the premises.

Visited due to the poor weather, it is small museum as some reviewers have mentioned. But we were passing and thought we would spend some time looking around the museum. Interesting exhibits/museum
