MS Vulkana is the result of a dream and a wild idea between friends. The owners of the boat share a passion for the beautiful nature in Northern Norway, sauna and bathing as well as excellent food. Together with the respected Finish architect; Sami Rintala, they transformed what once was a old worn out fishing vessel into a adventure boat, inspired by bathing cultures around the world.

The Vulkana gives you a unique way to access the majestic coastal area of Northern Norway in a comfortable setting. We focus on high quality food with seasonal and local ingredients, comfortable cabins, service minded crew, cleanliness and a low key but still exclusive feeling.

Vulkana has taken us in to the fjords and down the coast; bathing, skiing, hunting, fishing, eating, drinking and enjoying life in the sauna, hot-tub og Hamam under the midnight sun and the northern lights. Vulkana is a place for activity and energy as well as an oasis for tranquility and contemplation.

Welcome on board for your adventure

Fantastic experience.

Was there with a group of colleagues. We had an amazing time. The crew is very nice, the setup of the boat is just perfect and the view is breathtaking. A must do in Tromsø

Me and three other friends went on the two-hour saturday lunch cruise. It was simply an amazing experience. We had the chance to sit in the hot tub on the top of the ship as well as jump into the freezing arctic ocean. On the way back, we were served a lovely asian-inspired fish soup. All for a very reasonable... More

This is a remarkable experience for the ultimate Tromsø Experience. On this old fishingvessel you can have a lovely sauna, a jaccusi and a turkish sauna as well. The trip I tok was a bit short an perhaps a bit pricy for the length of it, but I only wish that I could have stayed there longer. Perhaps I reccomend... More

So we found this on trip advisor- thank you for showing us something magical! We booked to do this on New Year's Eve as it sounded like a lovely end to our trip- an old fishing boat converted into a spa with a meal, why not? Well it exceeded our expectations by miles! We arrived on board greeted by the... More

This is a must do. An absolutely incredible experience that we will never forget. Imagine sitting in a hot tub on top of a boat with more character than you can think of, watching the snow capped mountains go by as you glide past stunning scenery. The staff on this adventure were amazing. Catering for your every need, and before... More

My husband and I went on the Vulkana as part of our Honeymoon and all I can say is what an amazing experience!! It was freezing outside but amazing to be sat in a very warm hot tub on top of a boat in the middle of a Fjord! The boat has a hot tub, sauna, steam room, and turkish... More

Ok that's an exaggeration, we were in tromso harbour but this gorgeously fitted out boat with sauna, Turkish steam room and hot tub on deck is great fun and worth the 590nok price (100nok extra with towel and bathrobe which I recommend - it's icy getting out of that hot tub in 0-5degrees) low key and friendly atmosphere. Excellent coffee,... More

Not only can you take in the majestic mountains of Northern Norway while relaxing in an outside bathtub, but you also have the choice between a regular sauna or a Turkish hamam to further your relaxation. Me and my colleagues went on a team building trip and found the shared experiences of going on a mountain hike, fishing and visiting... More

Vulkana was an amazing experience. We traveled on a busy day but there was still space to rotate through the Turkish sauna, hot sauna, and hot tub. The contrast of heat and Arctic winter were invigorating. It sounds crazy, but you must try it: warm up in the sauna, hop into the Arctic ocean for a spectacularly cold--and quick!-- dip,... More

Before going to the boat I had a picture of a nice little boat with a hot tub on top of it, but boy was it so much more! First off all I was suprised of the size of the boat and with all it had with it. Everything was well organized and in order. We were out on a... More
