Had the most amazing experience today with Karin! My friend and i were looking for an adventure on our trip to tromso and the “snowshoeing with a view exceeded expectations! Pristine snowy conditions made an amazing hike up with stops for hot chocolate and chocolate at an old farmers cabin. Karin was such a joy to do the tour with, kind, patient and enjoying the experience just as much as we were. The view from the top was amazing looking out over tromso the ocean and the surrounding islands. Going down was even more fun! Karin taught us how to run in our snowshoes through the drifts we couldn’t stop laughing. Then finishing with a homemade lunch at her beautiful home made for the most amazing trip. I would highly recommend you book with this wonderful family company

it was a wonderful experience: fishing through the ice at theremove part of the fjord. Despite our inexperience, we had good fishing, thanks to the very precise advice we received.
then we had a lunch to enjoy our cod, which Karin rounded off with some tasty cakes she'd baked;

The ice fishing tour with Skadi Adventures was the highlight of our trip to Tromso. We couldn't fault a single aspect of our day out, apart from being sad to leave. We were very luck to catch plenty of fish, our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and a true local to the area, the setting was stunning, the group was small and intimate and the BBQ later was delicious icing on the cake. We could not recommend this experience enough!

Stayed in Tromso for a couple of days and decided to take on this activity with a friend of mine. It was the best decision we have made as it was the most fun and enjoyable experience ever! It was my first time snowshoeing and it was pretty easy to get the hang of it but as you get higher towards the hills it does get a bit tiring. So that is something to consider if you do get tired easily. Nonetheless, i had the best time enjoying the views and learning from Karin talk about the interesting things of Tromso. Going uphill was a journey but the views in the end were very rewarding. Along with that going down was so much fun as we learned how to run down the hills in the snow. If you’re in Tromso I’d say take on this adventure as it will be something that you’ll never forget!☃️ Thank you so much Karin for this awesome day! 🫶🏽

We had booked the Ice Fishing day with Karin but unfortunately on the day, we were advised that the conditions on the ice were not safe enough due to the weather that week causing the ice to crack. Karin offered to take us to meet a reindeer Sami and feed the reindeer, which was a more expensive experience but she offered to take us for no additional cost in place of our cancelled booking. Although initially disappointed (but no fault of Karin’s obviously!), we agreed to the reindeer feeding. We are so glad we did. It was a very intimate experience with only two other (lovely!) travellers joining - so much better than sharing the experience with a huge bus load of tourists. We had the entire area to ourselves- a gorgeous backdrop of the sun just beneath the horizon behind the mountains and a huge snowy plain of reindeer. After a good amount of time around the reindeer, we sat around a fire among the reindeer and chatted with the reindeer Sami with a tea or coffee - he was clearly so passionate about his reindeer and this made him so interesting to listen to. We then headed to Karin’s home where we were treated to reindeer burgers and hot drinks around the fire in her BBQ hut. It was such a lovely relaxed day and I would highly recommend any tour with Karin if you enjoy sightseeing with smaller groups. We wish we had come across Karin earlier so we could have booked other days with her!! Thanks Karin for a great day.

We feel very lucky to have joined this tour around Tromso today. Thank you Karin for showing us your beautiful country. Your family’s cabin in the countryside was so cosy and inviting, we felt properly welcome. We would definitely recommend this for anyone wanting to see the real Norway guided by a true local.

Karin is an amazing host and guide. She went out of her way driving 100s of kilometres to help us see the northern lights during a notoriously cloudy night. With Karin, what we get is a personalised experience. When we were in waiting for the northern lights, we warmed up in Karin’s cozy cabin in the forest that had fire and hot drinks and some snacks. I highly recommend Skadi Adventures!

We did a Fjord trip with Karin and it was even a better experience than watching the Northern Lights, not because Fjords are visually more spectacular but because Karin is the best host/ guide out there. If you are a planning a trip to Tromsø, please give her a shout and your experience would be worthwhile. Highly recommended!

So, we chose this ice fishing activity because my 17 year daughter really wanted to. My family likes to recreationally fish (we go camping a lot) but I’m not really into fishing.
Despite that, this was one of our best tours. Karin is a wonderful guide and a local Norwegian and we had a lovely time. Just being in the middle of the Fjord was enough for me. I enjoyed making the ice hole, etc. and even caught a fish (too small to eat- threw him back) but the rest of my family all caught fish to eat.
It’s about a half-hour drive to the Fjord, then 2 hours on the Fjord to fish. Afterwards, we go to her house and have hot drink and treats while she and her husband prepare the fish. Then we go to her Grillhute (like a sauna with a big fire for cooking in the middle). This was so fun!!!

We recently went on Skadi Adventures Northern Lights tour. It was fantastic from start to finish. Karin the tour coordinator was just brilliant. We travelled to her base camp just over an hour outside Tromsø. Enroute, the lights started to become visible and Karin had a place to pull in within minutes. When we arrived at her base camp, there was a fire lighting in a traditional Norwegian cabin. There was different foods to cook over the grill and lots of hot drinks. The cabin was an amazing spot to wait for the lights as it was warm and we could eat and drink. We saw other bus tours enrout and all the people were standing shivering on the side of the road while they waited on the lights. Karin took amazing photos for us and shared them that night. We were lucky the night we travelled as the lights were very strong. She even dropped us back to our accommodation in Tromsø. A definite must do on your visit to Tromsø.
