Nice discovery, guy at the entrance very kind but you need to speak either norwegian or russian :-) but don't worry everything is translated into different languages, french as well ^^ I thought it will be just a little museum about the village but actually it is a lot more than that and to be honest, I've been fascinated by the story of these poroms and this common story between these norwegians families and pomors. Really really captivating ! I encourage you to visit also the Kiberg partisan museum to get the continuation of these stories during the WWII. I recommend for sure !

We enjoyed this museum a lot. We learned a lot about the history of the people in this area and their trading with the pomors. Definitely worth a visit. I was hoping to be able to purchase some souvenirs, but there were hardly any.

We struggled with the museum as the opening hours were definitely a bit hit and miss but, once we had got in, we enjoyed the visit. The downside was that we were rushed out as the museum was about to close again.
What we did discover though was the fascinating history of the interaction of Russian and Norwegians through the "Pomor Trade" which lasted until the Red Revolution caused the trade to end. Fish, wood, flour and other commodities passed through the seas to the north of Norway mainly from the Russian port of Murmansk.
Worth a visit if you can decode the opening hours. English translations are available.
