We have played a few of these escape room games and found OTD to be very enjoyable.
The place is a little hard to find and the waiting area looked dodgy upon arrival as everything was covered in dust and didn't look used for weeks... But it turned out the owner had done some maintenance work and didn't cover everything, hence the dust.
The room itself was challenging, but not overly so, and thoroughly enjoyable.
Happy to recommend and we would definitely return.

Me and girlfriend booked the Dragon Cave escape room and we loved it! There were so many different puzzles and riddles throughout the game. The game is 70 mins (which is needed for 2 people). Would highly recommend this escape room to anybody looking to do one in Vienna.

Our son chose to go here for his 12th birthday while we were visiting Vienna.

We did the magicians room. It was challenging but achievable. Our kids really loved doing this as did the adults. We were successful (eventually)!!!!

WE highly recommend this as a family friendly activity while in Vienna.

I wouldn’t say that we came to Vienna just for this escape room, but we sort of did!
I had read about the room online and I was curious to meet the dragon.

First of all, if you’re new to escape rooms, this might be a very challenging first experience. The room is challenging and completely interactive (in the sense that you need to interact PHYSICALLY with your surroundings). You don’t need to be extraordinarily fit (we managed after munching god knows how many cakes in all of Vienna’s cafés!) but you need to be happy to move around.

Why is the room challenging? There’s a lot to do and plenty of out-the-box thinking. The owners have put a lot of love and attention to details in here. So, you’ve got a nice and logical flow of puzzles, and many non-padlock-based activities. The room is filled with exciting and timely surprises from the beginning to the end, so that you are naturally carried to the next bit of the story. We were only the 2 of us and escaped with about 9min left (it’s a 70-min escape). If you’re wondering if the room is suitable for couples, the answer is yes. However, you should get a few rooms under your belt before tackling this one.

Best a-ha moment: Following the dragon’s journey!

Why you want to book this room?
Because it’s full of smart puzzles.
Because it’s incredibly well made.
Because it will be your best escape adventure.

We did the Dragon's Cave. The riddles are very good but it was somewhat challenging for us (we were just two, and very tired), but the setting is great, and the hosts (thank you Philip!) are great.

We did the magicians and dragon room, and while both we're good the dragon room was exceptional! Great staff and discounts for booking multiple rooms.

We played "Dragons Cave" and I have to say that I was impressed by the amount of different tasks and puzzles that implemented technical mechanisms. It's very well made overall. Also, there are plenty of puzzles, you really need to be quick if you want to solve the whole thing, though they give you 10 minutes more than other escape rooms. Also, one particular thing that I liked is that the staff is assisting you if you are stuck on a puzzle for which you found the solution but you have some issues finding the correct way to apply it. There is no sense in wasting that time if you already found the code or the key.

There are no downsides, to name something they could tell you a bit more of the background story of the dragon and what happened, before starting the game.

I totally recommend it.

It was my first time in an escape room and I have to say it was of the most unique experiences I've had. Filip and Ulli are so friendly and accommodating. Open the door is a great team-building experience which is both challenging and fun. We were challenged with the most difficult room, and the puzzles and tasks are quite creative and require a high level of cooperation. Would highly recommend to a friend or group of friends. Experience was 10/10. By far the most interactive and creative challenges I have been faced with. The challenges are intricate and well thought out. Bravo!

I visited Open the Door escape room called "Dragon's Cave" together with my girlfriend. She has visited about 5 escape rooms before and because of very various experiences she wasn't too excited at first. Boy oh boy she was surprised and changed her mind afterwards. Even tho the disclaimer said "not suitable for people with claustrophobia" I didn't have any problems since the game design was very good and natural (I am a tad bit claustrophobic).

I guess I have to agree that the room has been designed more for the experienced players because they have used so many different locks/puzzles to move forward in the room and the amount of puzzles you have to solve is really high. (we visited one more room in Vienna and got really bored with solving 4 number locks all the time).

The game was really well designed. The theme was followed well throughout the game and didn't look cheap. I really enjoyed that all the locks and props worked without any problems so I didn't have to spend time questioning myself if I have the wrong solution or the game mechanics just don't work properly.

I personally also enjoyed that the clues weren't hidden to some random places but it kind of felt intuitive and natural. Also things kind of just "made sense". I always had a good idea where do I want to go (what's my end goal) and what I need to do in order to get there (small missions).

Since I don't like to ask for hints and tend to spend way too much time being stuck at some puzzles I really enjoyed that they were always paying attention at what we were doing and if we tend to get stuck for too long they gave some subtle hints (which for my surprise also were thematic... not to spoil anything) which kept us going and we finished the room on the last minute.

NB! It's possible to let them know beforehand that you would not like to get any hints without asking.

All in all I would rate it as one of my best (if not the best) experiences visiting an escape room and I would highly recommend Open the Door to anyone who is looking to spend some good time solving some puzzles and have some serious fun with couple of friends. ALSO very good bang for your buck ratio!
