About
At the Hemp Embassy Vienna, the "Hemp Museum" association is exhibiting living cannabis plants at all stages of flowering. Some of the varieties used are also used for medicine and stimulants. In each of seven display cases made out of safety glass, a different variety is displayed from the beginning of its flowering stage through harvest maturity. In addition to being visually impressive, these plants give off delightful smells: small openings in the glass cases allow visitors to sample each individual odor. Each flowering plant is accompanied by detailed information, such as THC and CBD content, duration of flowering period and genetic origins. The flowering phase of each plant is also filmed and can be viewed at Hemp Embassy Vienna's website. In addition, general information regarding cannabis culture, decriminalization and legalization is available. Finally, a small museum shop completes the museum experience.

Address
Neighborhood: Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.

The Hemp Embassy Vienna is similar to the Cannabis College in Amsterdam. There isn't much historical stuff to see at the moment, I guess more things will be added later on but the plants are beautifully presented and you can smell them if you pull on a string. On a led-display you will see detailed information of the plant featured inside the showcase. There are several hemp products for sale, T-shirts, hemp smoothies and even some edibles. The Hemp Embassy is located, in a side-street close to the famous shopping street "Mariahilferstraße" beside a Head-Shop. Entry is free of charge.

Visited at 22/9/2022.. The museum is closed for four years. Good job Google. It was a nice try btw, checking a unique tree and buying some staff from the shop.

I stumbled on this embassy by accident and so glad that I did!
Upstairs is really nice shop where everybody can find something from their great offers. Downstairs is real gem.
Bunch of all kind of stuff made from hemp. I find it a really good way to support hemp use for products in everyday life.
Behind there are several species of plants growing in their own room. Really nice place to be, I really enjoyed my time there and can recommended even a short visit.

P.S. Every time when you open the door and make a first step downstairs, amazing smell that plants produce hits you and makes you smile right away so I suggest to do it couple of times =)

There's only one room, the one that is to be seen in the pictures, but this one room makes it all. The most interesting thing is that you can smell all the plants and see from where they are. The lights make it hard to stay there longer, but it's definetely worth a visit if you have a couple of minutes. + merch store
