Info good.. city pass and ticket sale… terrible!!
Jun 2023
The information centres are located at different places .. I visited the one near Albertina.. the one right at Karlsplatz seems to be a private city pass centre… this one is official state information centre. There were two sections- information and sales( city pass and tickets) The staff at the information spent a lot of time with me tirelessly, sharing valuable inside information with some suggestions as well, that helped me during my stay and tour in and around the city. However, the sales staff does not have much to suggest ( because of which I purchased a flexi pass and was not informed about the do’s and don’t s with it) - I lost one visit out of the five because I was not informed well about the 70 tourist destinations and how to use the pass! Also, I purchased a ticket for Mozarthaus concert from the same window, for which o was given a handwritten ticket . The time written in it was 8.30 pm . However, on reaching the Venice at 8.06 pm, I found the gates locked and no one to help.. I kept using google maps frantically to find an alternate entrance to the venue but it landed me T the same place four times ; tried asking neighboring shops .. but could not get in . By 8.19, a coupe came out of the building and I got inside… trying to find where exactly the concert was supposed to happen. Suddenly, o hear music playing and found a chamber concert happening from a window . Luckily, a guy appears with bottles of water and drink to be used during the interval. He lets me in after some time. Apparently, he was one of the organisers and told me that the concert starts at 8 pm and that 8.30 pm was wrongly written. But he was sweet enough to offer me a compensation by providing me a seat for a string quartet at same venue a day later, provided that I do not go back and talk about this at the tourist information centre. This guy was very kind even the next time I visited this place ( something rare to find in Vienna- sweet Viennese people) So, be extra careful when you book your ticket / city pass at the vienna tourist information near Albertina!

In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

This tourist information center located on Albertina Platz is truly awesome. They don't just give you maps and guidance but provide you with heaps of other services. They have free WiFi. They have a ticket desk where you can buy discounted theater tickets. They provide brochures, hotel bookings and all sorts of assistance to the tourists. The staff is polite, helpful and English speaking. The gold interior is very elegant.

We stopped in the official toruist information center on Albertiona Platz in the heart of Vienna's inner city. Walls were lined with excellent maps and fact-filled pamphlets. There were two separate desk areas. The one to the left is marked Events, Concerts on the marquee above the desk. Their job is to sell tickets and tours. The desk to the right is clearly marked "Information." Three very nice and knowledgeable staff were on duty, handling requests from a steady stream of tourists. It was a very hot, sunny day, over 90 degrees outside. In my opinion, a tourist information office should be a cool oasis on a day like that, but their air conditioning was having trouble and it ws warm and stuffy inside.

The tourist information building itself is beautiful, warm, full of brochures and free wifi.
However the staff could use a crash course in touristic hospitality.
the not-so-subtle rolling of eyes and sighing each time you asked something was really off putting. while the younger galls that they attended before us where getting the full 9 yards of attempted fake friendliness.

Staff do not give out much information and they are not friendly. No smiles, no hello, no please, no thank you, or even a goodbye. Very brief info given, we had to keep asking questions. We also bought a 2 day Vienna pass and the man who was serving us failed to tell us that some attractions were closed on Mondays. Not a good first impression of this city! Vienna is a charming city.... people NOT so charming!!

There’s only one leaflet available here, although it’s available in many different languages. It provides a map in the smallest possible font and is as much use as a chocolate teapot. No information about any of the attractions. Staff were really unhelpful and unfriendly and gave us completely inaccurate information. Don’t waste your time.

The Tourist Information Centre in Albertinaplatz is a great destination to start your holiday, nice staff, good tips and all housed in a cool looking building.
We started an eight days holiday in Vienna and went here second day,got some good tips and information, staff super pleasant and eager to help .
The building the Tourist Information Centre is housed in keeps with the stunning architecture of not just Albertinaplatz but in the surrounding streets ,just beautiful, very eye catching indeed and is a place I highly recommend you visit if your planning a holiday to Vienna.

Located behind the opera house. The store had about 1000 brochures, unfortunately they were all the same booklet, that I essentially got in the hotel. Luckily I had done about 99% of my research on line before the trip, but sometimes you would just like a local voice to confirm some of the things you want to do. Seriously, you can get this from hotel staff better than this information office.

I was in the office near the museums. The young lady may have been having a bad day. No greeting, no reciprocal smile or hello when I offered. She didn't know her pamphlets, she didn't offer a round trip train ticket ("you could get one from there when you want to return" - it was an afternoon visit. She assumed the time I wanted to go, didn't ask. She didn't know there was another bus needed once I reached the destination nor the extra walk needed from that bus. She told me I should walk back to my hotel rather than take the U in Vienna, said it was a short walk. It wasn't far, however her spassumotions and dismissive nature made me hope she was a temp or about to be...
