Neighborhood: Wieden
The fourth district combines elegant tradition with contemporary style and relaxed living. More than a dozen town palaces and churches such as St. Charles Borromeo have added glamour to a neighborhood known for its traditional retail and crafts shops, taverns, cafés. Nice small church
Feb 2021 • Couples
Another church in vienna, a religious site from 1211 but this church dates from 1651.
Small and plain on outside but open and quite nice inside in baroque style. free to enter.

I visited this church because the FSSP holds a Tridentine Latin Mass here. It’s beautiful and worth a visit!

Beautiful free evening performance by the Ensemble Sonor Beatus at Paulanerkirche
Oct 2019 • Solo
On a website listing events in Vienna, I happened to come across a free Monday evening performance of Baroque music played on violin and cello, by the Ensemble Sonor Beatus at Paulanerkirche. I am so glad I made my way across town to hear it, it was beautiful- the acoustics were magic. From the outside the church does not look too exciting, but it is richly decorated inside. If you can catch a performance, do go along. Lots of nice eating and lovely boutiques in the area too.

Beautiful church.
Jun 2019 • Friends
My twin brother Stephen and I were heading towards our favourite Irish pub namely The Four Bells Irish Pub and passed the beautiful Paulanerkirche.
This church looks superb, theres been a religious site on this spot since 1211 ,this present church dates from 1651 and although quite small and rather plain looking from the outside, the interior is beautiful, lots of nice features and details especially the high alter, makes for some great photographic opportunities.
We were here on a Wednesday night,11.30pm and the church was obviously closed ,I took a few photos of the church which looked really evocative when illuminated before moving on to the Irish pub.
Paulanerkirche is easy to locate, jump tram number 1 or 62 to stop Paulanergasse which drops you off facing the church which is found in the Wieden neighbourhood .
A beautiful church, well worth checking out if your in the area.

A Quaint Working Church Worth Visiting
Jan 2019 • Friends
Nestled on a corner just outside the ring road, this church is well worth a visit. You can take pictures through the gate and if you attend on Sundays, attend mass. You can laso light a candle, if they have any, say a prayer, and feel good!!!

Quaint neighborhood church older than Karlskirche!
May 2018 • Couples
Completed in 1651, this beautiful small church is a must-see for those who love historical buildings and old churches. Stunning original artwork, pink marble, and elaborate statues. The church is still in use, so you can attend Mass here, but during non-services days there's an inside locked gate so you can't always walk around freely inside. It's easily found but so unobtrusive you can easily miss it while walking by. Definitely recommend visiting this hidden gem.

Baroque church
Nov 2017 • Solo
Just a short 5 minute walk from Taubstummengasse station. I attended because they hold the traditional Latin rite mass here (Tridentine) courtesy of the FSSP. Unassuming on the outside but baroque extravaganza on inside.

We were visiting the wonderful pub's,bar's and restaurant's in this area and in particular THE FOUR BELL's irish pub,Our favourite Irish pub in Vienna and although I've passed this superb church on many occasion's on many trip's to Vienna I've never really gave it a glance till now.
The church is lovely ,it might look a little plain from the exterior but the interior is superb, elaborate detail's,nice features such as the alter,it rally is a beautiful church.
There has been a church on this site since 1211 in one guise or the other and is a landmark church and meeting point in this area.
Easy to reach, jump tram 1 or 62 to stop PAULANERGASSE stop and the baroque church is to be found on the street PAULANERGASSE.
A beautiful church in a great district of the city and well worth a visit.
