Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns, and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill – fantastic for great vistas of Vienna. The woodland around Kahlenberg has a wonderful and not too strenuous hiking path - just don't forget the insect repellent. If you have adventurous children, take them to Waldseilpark Kahlenberg (forest rope park Kahlenberg). A must-do if you want a taste of the Vienna Woods is a stop at Josefinenhütte next door with its great food, cosy interiors and wonderful outdoor space.

We suggest to admit less people for each time tour. There was a group about 40 people in the same time with about 10 couple visiting. It was impossible having some talk with the waitress about wines we tasted. Neither of the waitress talken us about wines, just the name. Such a pity!
Beautiful places, audio-guide is good but too much people in the same place at the same time. (only form, without essence)

My wife and I decided to do the self-guided cellar tour and we were extremely happy. We got the package with 5 wine samples and it was totally worth it. The cellar is amazing (some great photo ops) and you can learn a ton. Oh yeah, and the wine is great! Advice-wear a sweater/jacket while on the tour because it does get pretty cold in the cellar.

We were very late but the personnel was kind and gave a quick personalised tour, very nice of them 😊
The cellars are very nice and their history is quite interesting, and the wines are good.

We were looking for something different in Vienna, and found the Schlumberger Wine Cellar tour.
You receive an Apple I phone which plays the audio tour in the language of your choice. The audio tour contains many chapters, and is detailed in its description.
To be honest, there is not much to see besides many cellars containing champagne wine bottles in maturation, but this is not a negative comment.
At the conclusion of the tour, you get to taste 3 different samples of champagne wine, all with generous portions.
The Schlumberger Wine Cellars are very easy to get to on the U4 subway line, with a 5 minute walk afterwards.
If you are tired of visiting palaces and museums, then do go to the Schlumberger Wine Cellars tour.

Wow what a nice place to visit. This is a little gem just outside the city centre. Absolutely amazing experience. Just walk inside this marvelous cellar with the audio guide and immerse yourself in the bubble wine production.

We weren't familiar with Austrian wines before this experience. Noticed this wine cellar in a tourist brochure and this was really worth visiting.
Beautiful cellars with lots of information and history. We learned a lot. Audio guide suggested. After the tour we tasted three different sparkling wine all made by methodé traditionelle. They were absolutely fantastic! And the price, very low for that quality. Do not miss this!

Perfect tour for a rainy day. Be sure to check the hours as they are closed Sunday – Tuesday. The self-guided audio tour is included on the Vienna Pass and includes a single tasting. For an extra 9 Euros we enjoyed the grand tasting (a full pour of 4 different sparkling wines). The geniality and energy of the tasting room makes for a very enjoyable afternoon. (I’m sure the sparkling wine has something to do with it!)
