This is definitely worth doing. The Karlskirche itself is remarkably beautiful, enhancing the incredible music from the marvelously talented musicians. This is an excellent cheaper alternative to the Mozart experience.
The only negative aspect is that the programme for some reason is not included in the admission price. You are required to pay an extra few euros in order to get one.

A beautiful setting, for a spectacular evening of music. The lead violinist played passionately, without sheet music and was very entertaining to watch. The string ensemble supported the lead violinist and they were superb. The excellent acoustics of the church made it even better. The energy was high and the audience very engaged leading to multiple encores. We did pay for seats up close, which we would do again. Highly recommended.

A wonderfully played concert with historical instruments in an impressive church. The instruments had to be retuned after each movement, but that did not detract from this great concert. The musicians didn't just play, they lived this music. I have rarely heard such a lastingly impressive concert!! It's worth it!!! I sat in the front row on August 16, 2023 and had wonderful acoustics.

We went on Christmas Eve thinking this would be a beautiful way to start our Christmas. We went early and lined up 45 minutes prior to start time. We’re among the first to enter and after multiple checks of our tickets (and following placement of signs) sat at what we were told was the first row in 2nd section. Imagine our surprise when we were asked to move 10 minutes before the start, after the church had filled up, because we were seated in last row of section 1. No consideration given to the fact that mistake was made by the ushers, no consideration given to fact that we had come early and waited in the cold. No gesture of good will. Instead we were threatened with removal if we did not move immediately. I can only imagine how Jesus must be feeling watching callous behaviour unfolding in his house on the eve of his coming. Totally ruined the evening for us.

I always find the Karlskirche a very nice place for concerts - the ensemble was also very good, but I wasn't so impressed with the interpretation. And the first violin would have benefited from a bit more team player qualities. But hopefully that will be better next time.

This is s freezing freezing experience in December.
The church is not heated at 3,° C ? This is totally un reasonable.
They do provide thin blankets that do not help much. There is no WC available inside

You are requested to take your hat off ( church after all) this is completely un reasonable

My husband and I have just walked back to our hotel after attending the concert performed by Orchestra 1756 on Baroque instruments. We had been a little concerned about the quality of the performance as it is just one of so many nightly performances touted around Vienna. However, the quality of the musicians is top class, especially the young woman playing the recorders who gave a virtuoso performance in several of the movements. We had paid to have numbered seats and it was so worth the additional cost. The setting inside the church is sublime but I do wonder if those at the back of the church (and it was packed out) would have been able to properly hear the full sound of this marvellous small orchestra. Tonight was the highlight of our one week stay in Vienna.

The church has excellent acoustics and both the orchestra and choir are quite good. The concert we saw lasted just an hour but was excellent. Seating is open, so some people lined up an hour before the doors opened, although we didn't and still got good seats in our category. Audience was respectful and observed rules against photos during the performance. unlike some other Vienna performances. Good choice if you don't have or don't want to spend a lot of time. Seating is a bit uncomfortable,

Well organised and beautifully played by the 8 piece strings orchestra accompanied by piano. The addition of a great singer made it even more special.
There are no toilets in the church - so bear that in mind! Although you are able to use the university toilets just across the square. Worth the money and we paid for catagory/section 1 where you have a numbered row & seat.
One other thing - you must exchange your printed or mobile ticket for an official ticket from the little stand next to the queue before hand or you will just have to rejoin the queue after you get to the front and are sent off to do it!

Excellent venue (not too sure about the mirrorball ??) and a beautiful concert. Took a little while to realise the conductor also took on the vocals as well.
Runs for approx 75 mins in total which is just about enough for sitting on unpadded church pews.
Only criticism would be the ticketing and seating arrangements. When you order online, it is only for a voucher. Then there is a scramble at the church to exchange this for your open seating ticket, followed by a race to grab the best seat available in your allocated section. Tip, pay the top price for section 1 and run like the clappers once you get your ticket..all a bit vulgar, I know. Oh, and don’t focus too much on the pianist who looks as if she keeps dozing off and falling into the piano.
Classical aficionados will hate me for this review.
