There is everything inside or near by that you may need. There are many public transportation options.
I went several times. Many good stores. I recommend to families or even friends or maybe alone.

Nice place with approx. 50 shops. Plenty of restaurants. You can use the toilets for free. The whole place looks clean. You get to the mall easily by metro (lines U3 or U4).

There is a multiple-floor shopping mall at Wien Mitte Station known as Wien Mitte The Mall. Opening hours are 9am to 8 or 9pm for most shops with later hours for restaurants located here.
Wien Mitte is a transportation hub for U-Bahn (U3 and U4 lines) as well as the CAT (City Airport Train) which is why we found ourselves here during our recent visit to Vienna.
There are a handful of retail and service shops as well as fast-food, casual sit-down restaurants and a large Spar at the Mall. The Spar in particular shop if you need to make quick food & drink purchases or for travel related items and consumables that you may have left at home or be in need of for your onward travels.
In the end, not the type of place we would normally target during our travels. However, we did find Wien Mitte The Mall to be a useful venue for those arriving/departing or staying in a nearby hotel.

This is a centrally located decent little mall with shops and eateries, which are perfectly OK for a quick brunch or lunch.

We wanted to put our luggage on hold before our flight and enjoy the half-day in Vienna. But... All lockers we found (CAT's and ÕBB's) were busy, ÕBB's ones were around 30 only. Considering the Wien-Mitte is the train station with airport connection, is this amount of lockers absolutely not enough. Huge disappointment.

Italian fast food chain . Only pizza , pasta , lasagne and salads but in very good selection. The place is very busy but the staff gives their best and everything is prepared really quick right in front of the customers. High rate of hygiene and reasonable prices .

A great station to buy local SIM card (open later than most places in Vienna). Some food, connect to U3 and U4 she metro, S7 that goes to the airport (takes about 25 min), CAT which is overpriced and only slightly faster than S7.
It also has lockers for luggage, many sizes but only few are XL. Locker space is open 24/7 and accept counts or bills (price between 1.5€-3 €. The storage is on the ground floor, near the escalator from U3. Ask info desk for location if you can't find it.
From here you can walk to the river bank or to the city center, about 7 min walkz

The Wien Mitte The Mall has to be seen. After coming from Vienna Airport on CAT City Airport Train you enter the city centre through the Wien Mitte shopping mall.
There is a great range of shops and restaurants within the mall to suit all prices.

It's centrally located at the Wien Mitte U-Bahn station across from the Hilton Vienna. It was super convenient for us. We probably visited the mall at least 3 times during our week long stay. It came in very handy on the day my mother's purse fell apart during our trip. She was able to find a nice leather purse in less than an hour of browsing through the stores. There's a wonderful grocery store called "Interspar Hypermarket" where you can buy Julius Meinl coffee, as well as a wide assortment of liqueur filled chocolates. We bought a few boxes of Kastner Marille (chocolate covered apricots soaked in liqueur) and a few pouches of coffee on our last day. My only regret is that we didn't buy more. The chocolates reminded me of the cherry liqueur version of Mon Cheri (only they were much larger). This store has a huge selection of just about everything. There's also a drugstore called "Mueller" and "The Body Shop" where we bought a few essentials that we forgot to pack. There are about 50 other shops in the mall, and a very nice food court (with a "McDonalds" and a "Cinnabon"). We didn't eat there, but I imagine it would be very convenient for those coming in from the airport. Besides the U-Bahn station, there's the CAT (City Airport Train) which runs every half hour from Wien Mitte to the airport between 5:30 am and 11:00 pm daily. You can purchase the tickets at the vending machines in the mall. Yet another very convenient feature. It's really at the center of everything. We were very fortunate to be near this shopping center.

Small mall, with Interspar mini-supermarket, coffee shops, bakeries, eateries, ATM, etc. Super convenient for travelers making connections.

On Sunday the mall is closed. As it is a CAT terminal too, do they provide any toilets for the passangers? Are there any toilets on Sunday around Wienn Mitte? I saw Vienna has a lack of public toilets...
Written April 3, 2019
The mall building is open from 5 am till 1 am every day. The toilets are on levels 0, 1, 2.
Can't say about public toilets in the city, but it is always possible to ask in pubs or restaurans.
