In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

A grand piece of beautiful architecture. With a lot of Nobel Prizes and history. The inner garden is really nice and it has beautiful ambiance. Worth a visit if you are in Vienna and interested in history.

I visited Vienna university on several occasions. Always admiring courtyard with the statues of former Rectors. It would be a good idea to have a stone table with all the names of previous Rectors and the best students.

The University of Vienna is one of the oldest and largest universities in Europe. It was founded in the 14th century and moved to its modern main building on the Ringstraße in 1884.

In a city that is justifiably famous for it's amazing architecture Univeraitat Wien is yet another grand piece of architecture.
Founded in 1365 and boasting many famous luminaries ,as with most of the architecture in Vienna its jaw dropping, I've been to many citys in my time but for sheer beauty the architecture in this most beautiful of city's is out of this world and buildings such as this seat of learning are just so cool.
Easy to locate on Universitaetsring and most definitely well worth checking out.

This is another example of the excellent architecture of Vienna. If you have the choice, do not hesitate to get inside the building. The sourrundings are nice, it is close to the historical center and the access is free.

We walked in the central university building because we were so curious about it. The different courtyards impressed me the most. I recalled also my time in the university-totally different league - much lower.

An impressive building with the internal "campus" ( one huge tree and lawn surrounded by the building) stairs and marble columns, with a lot of history and Nobel prizes. But I bought a T-Shirt from the students organisation as a souvenir of the Great University.....that throw out Albert Einstein when he was a student there !!!!
