Passed this butterflyhouse, and the women couldnt resist visiting. So we did, and we dont regret. Lots and lots of beautiful butterflies in various sizes, colors and patterns. But dont go in wearing to much clothes as there is very warn and moist. Well worth a visit for ALL ages!

This venue was very disappointing. The only English translation was a sign saying "do not touch anything at all", but the information posters about the life-style of a butterfly were only in German. There were only two species of butterfly to be seen, and not too many specimens either. It was very hot and humid, but the coat & scarf... More

This is one of the Vienna must- see. It is a small place and it might seem a bit pricey but the joy of the butterflies, of the exotic flowers and of the kids touched by the wings was such a great experiences!

Not the most widely advertised attraction but it can be found at the back of the Albertina. 13 Euros a bit steep for 2 people and 20 minutes entertainment in a hot, sweaty glass house. The butterflies are attractive and great fun for kids.

As you get inside you feel the tropical air of the small reservation and you see all these beautiful creatures flying around in a fairy tale like scenery. Besids the beautiful butterflies there are lovley flowers and a small waterfall or two. Worth the visit

It is an amazing place, a must-see in Vienna. You enter a greenhouse with butterflies flying around you. It's like a farytale.

You're probably going to like this place even if you aren't that much into butterflies. You get to see them in a variety of sizes and colours. The inside is quite small but it is very hot and humid so make sure you don't have very warm clothes on. It seemed a bit pricey at first (6e) but in the... More

We were looking for something to do to fill our morning before an afternoon flight home and one of us found this butterfly house on the internet. The surroundings themselves are worth visiting as it is right in the middle of tourist country near the library and the Winter Palace, so lots of nice scenery. The Schmetterlinghaus itself is not... We paid 23 euros for a family with 2 kids hoping to enjoy the view of the butterflies. Eventually we spent inside 5 minutes and run outside. The place itself is small, hot and humid. It's very unpleasant to stay inside (although we didn't wear any worm cloths). Inside there are not that many butterflies (comparing to other butterflies places... More

In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
