A thoroughly fascinating walk through the history of crime, in Austria. Really appreciated having information booklet written in English. Material presented clearly but not sensationalist. Friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone with a genuine interest in Criminolgy and all matters of social, historical and cultural...More

This museum would probably get a higher rating if the information signs was in english and if the basement didn't smell like mold (you could actually see it in the ceiling). There was a lot of interesting material (I think...) but you only got a...More

Awful museum. Totally unsuitable for Non-German speakers as everything was in German. They made you buy a very boring 'English Guide' which was clearly just translated on Google! The exhibits look like they could have been made by children. 100% unsuitable for wheelchair users/disabled people....More

We are sorry to hear that our employee didn't answer your questions. The cassier at that day was an elderly man with hearing aid. For social reasons we also employ elderly and handicapped persons. Therefore we ask for your understanding. The Crime Museum Team

I can't believe the negative reviews by people who complain about the captions being in German. Er, this is a small, privately-run museum on an obviously limited budget in a German-speaking city. If you want English captions stay in Britain, America or wherever your insular...More

THE GOOD: 1. Very fascinating material: The museum has an extensive collection of crime evidence, newspaper clippings, replicas, weapons and information. In cases, you will find weapons of torture and punishment from the 1500s. Skulls, skeletons and mummified heads of criminals are in glass cases....More
