In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

It is quite pretty from the outside, totally worth taking pictures of it. The bad part is that it is almost impossible to enter, on the internet it says that there are visits every hour, but when we went they told us that just some days. There is no way to check it on the internet, so it is very complicated.
It would be a good idea to sell the tickets online for the days and hours of the visit.
Also, they put a fence so you cannot come close to it to take pictures.

In this beautiful building in Vienna from 1918 to the present day, the national and federal councils of the Austrian parliament sit. The building was built in 1874-1883 in the neo-Greek style according to the project of the architect Teofil von Hansen. Nesmotrya na silnye razrušeniya during the Second World War, most of the original interior was restored during restoration in 1955—1956.

My tourist friends really liked this place! There is an absolutely gorgeous statue here, and the renovation was nicely done. This place used to be a stain on the Ringstraße but now it is actually one, if not my favourite, building on it.

The Austrian parliament building is a the location where the two houses of the Austrian Parliament conduct their meetings. Much of the building is currently under cover due to renovations, but it's pretty obvious from what's visible that the building is in the Greek Neoclassical style. Hope to see more of it once the covers come off.

Visited this fascinating place in the evening on the 19th of May 2024. Vienna casts a magic spell over you as this magnificent city spreads its charm in every nook and corner especially the parliament. Now the history of this place : The precursor to the present building was the temporary House of Representatives, located on Währinger Straße, off the newly laid-out Ringstraße boulevard. It was erected within six weeks in March and April 1861 according to plans designed by Ferdinand Fellner, a famous Austrian theatre architect. The parliament building covers over 13,500 square meters (145,300 sq ft), making it one of the largest structures on the Ringstraße. It contains over one hundred rooms, the most prominent of which are the Chambers of the National Council, the Federal Council, and the former House of Deputies (Abgeordnetenhaus). The building also includes committee rooms, libraries, lobbies, dining rooms, bars and gymnasiums. One of the building's most famous features is the Pallas Athena fountain in front of the main entrance, built by Carl Kundmann after plans from Hansen from 1898 to 1902; it is one of the city's most notable tourist attractions.

The building was in repair, but there were quite interesting elements in the antique-architectural style - statues, columns, friezes. It's probably worth seeing inside. Reconstruction will continue well enough, so the next time.

While the exterior is beautiful and very Greek, this Parthenon-inspired building isn't worth the 5 Euro entrance fee and guided tour, especially since there's nothing spectacular inside. Simply admire from the outside this structure that houses the 2 houses of the Austrian legislature, then move on. You can get here by taking trams 1 or 2 that goes along the Ringstrasse (the "Ring Road") to the Stadiongasse/Parlament stop, which is included in your 24-hr transit pass for 7.60 Euros (unlimited rides) that you can buy from machines at the entrance of any metro station.

How much is the price to see the inside of Parliament?
Written April 18, 2019
Before it was free and individual visitors could join the groups of 3-day tours organized.
Now everything is enclosed, we have not entered, and I did not care if tours are still being organized.
I'm sorry, maybe someone has more information.
