It's hardly located in the centre or anywhere of any particular note but right by tram 52 which goes from the Westbahnhof. Their own beers are superb and the food is excellent. Really good prices and friendly and efficient service. All main courses are about €10 or under. We both had the Hauspfanne, which had 3 types of Schnitzel with... More

Thinking of a German/Aistrian beer house or garden and cheerful staff slinging mugs of frothy ales come to mind? Or dark woodwork in a warm, dimly lit pub area filled with friendly chatter and a local dog our two? Or how about a pretty, well-tended courtyard garden? Them this it's the place to visit as it has it all. Fantastic... More

Although the restaurant was crowded and a bit smokey, it was worth the trek. In town for the Christmas markets, I'd bookmarked this and we checked it out after visiting the Schonbrunn Palace market since we were already in that part of town. It is still a decent walk from the train station but we refueled with schnitzel, fried Emmental... More

Took a trip out here on the basis of these reviews. Most of the place was thick with smoke, the handful of non-smoking tables looked ok but with no reservation we were sent away. Hardly matters how good the beer might be in that atmosphere. There are other brewhouses where you can taste things!

Our nephew insisted we visit his local "pub" during our stay. Very convenient 1/2 mile walk from subway (Ober St. Viet - green line). He promised the best hefeweisen and a dark creamy stout - both were suberb! The hungarian goulash boasted rich intense flavor, melt in the mouth beef and undoubtedly the best dumplngs I've ever had. Quaint but... More

I went to this restaurant to try real Austrian food and I was looking for a totally non-touristic place. Frankly, not all of the citizens of Vienna knew about the place when I was trying to locate it...but once I was there, I felt like I got home and my mom is waiting for me with a nice home-made dinner.... My family and I traveled to Vienna for a relaxing vacation away from the hustle and bustle of life. Soon after our arrival I realized we were in for a surprise. Vienna is quite a locale with many amazing things to see and do. The city is vibrant and full of life; hustle and bustle to be exact. The population... More

After spending four months in Austria, nothing eclipses this microbrew experience. Good food, good service, and the best beer in Vienna, hands down! Your Austrian experience is not complete until you've visited Medl-Brau and sampled their delicious nectar--twice.
