Walter Juraschek worked with Jewish Welcome Service Vienna for our week of touring. He was very personable and incredibly knowledgeable about Vienna and Jewish history in Austria. If anyone wants to learn about Vienna's past, I highly recommend Walter. Our group of 20 people asked many questions and he had answers for everything, never missing a beat. Well prepared and great to work with. He treated us like we were family.

I so agree with the other positive reviews! Walter Juraschek was a fabulous guide! One of the highlights of our Europe trip. Wish we spent more than 3 hours on our private Jewish tour; a full daywould have been much better, maybe even 2.

We hired Walter as our guide for 3 hours on the Sunday morning of our stay. He collected us from our hotel and started the tour on our hotel doorstep. His english was excellent, i have been on English speaking tours when you cannot understand due to accents etc but no problems here. The tour was wonderful, we learned so much of Vienna's history particularly during the war and the consequences following its alliance with Germany. He took us into St Augustines church so we could hear the choir rehearsing before the 11am mass, absolutely mind blowing, the singing was beautiful. We are so pleased we took this tour there is so much to learn and Walter was great giving us bullet points all the way round and had a great sense of humour, and his love of Vienna is obvious, it was a great start to our stay and gave us a good focus on which things to look into in greater detail.

We met Bettina at our hotel and she gave us a great tour. We went to hard to find places, and did a phenomenal job of pointing out the big things and the small things. We both love music and so she tailored it that way. Her energy and love of Vienna was great. She had a binder to point things out. She answered virtually every question. She was extremely knowledgable. We had time to stop and eat. She had our schedule plan perfect and flexible. We are debating calling her tomorrow or another tour. She was awesome!!!

Walter guided my husband and I through Vienna for two days. He has a grasp of history that is unbelievable, and his sense of humor makes all of it interesting. We went everywhere on foot, tram and subway. A very relaxing and fun 2 days with a very dear person. He made our trip.

We arranged a culinary tour with Bettina and greatly enjoy our 1.5 hours. She introduced us to many specialties of the area we would never have tried had we not gone on this tour (we still talk about the sausage with cheese!) Bettina also gave us some historical insights along the way! We did have to pay for what we choose to eat at each stop but it was not a significant amount and we had no need to eat lunch afterwards. I went on many tours during my eastern europe trip and this was one of the best!

We were three couples traveling together, touring the Jewish highlights in Prague, Vienna, Budapest and Amsterdam. Due to the off season nature of our travel we made arrangements for private tour guides in all three cities. The services of Walter Juraschek were by far the best of all three guides we engaged!

Walter met us at our hotel on both mornings and guided us through well thought out and thoughtfully presented walking tours of Vienna sharing both Jewish and general facts with us through out. When he heard that one of our group had close family ties to Vienna during the Holocaust he voluntarily provided her with an extra hour of private touring to see a specific area not on our agenda.

From the beginning we knew that Walter wanted to be sure we had a full grasp and understanding of Vienna before, during and after the atrocities of WW II - and that was definitely accomplished.

Even his restaurant recommendations were perfect!

We look forward to a return trip to Vienna when we will definitely engage Walter to show us the Palaces and other areas that could not be seen in two short 3 hour torus.

Walter came highly recommended and he didn't disappoint. We booked a four hour walking tour and on the as appointed morning it was snowing. Walter was more than happy to reschedule and we ended up with a sunny day a few days later! We were interested in a tour focused on Jewish history in Vienna. We walked all over the first district and visited many interesting sites that we would have never seen on our own. Walter is a professionally licensed tour guide, is very pleasant and has a great knowledge of the facts and history, with a good sense of humor thrown in! I don't think you can go wrong here.

I contacted Walter spontaneously for a tour the next day. He answered very quickly and informally and we could immediately arrange the tour for our family inspire the season of Xmas holidays. I checked before the possible guides and tours on trip advisor and found this address offers more choice and specialities in terms of tours. And I have to say that his expertise was fully confirmed in our 2 hours city walk in the old town. Walter was very good in telling us a lot of nice historic anecdotes and showed us many little details and corners around the big mass sites. We will definitively do again one of the special tours with him in the future.
