Enter from the tram side at the first gate into the garden. Amazing! It is quite a walk from the gate through the garden up to the palace. Rooms are beautiful with views of the gardens and Vienna city. We went to see the Klimt's which were well displayed. There is some master works but the real stars are the... More

This Palace is close to city center, but a bit of a journey to its entrance. Once you walk through the entrance gate there is a courtyard with a building of three sides and entrances. You would assume the entry is the middle, but it'soff to the right side. We were not interested in the museums itself but just taking... More

This place needs absolutely to be seen when travelling to Vienna. The architecture of the castle is very rich and the gardens are wonderful and very well structured. The museum of the upper castle is absolutely amazing, especially with the design of its rooms and the collection of Klimt, Schiele... Since the museum is located away from the centre of... More

This palace is another magnificent building in Vienna. On the outside I think it is the prettiest architecturally. This is the one with the priceless art, including the Klimt and the Lady in Gold. It is rare art you will want to see, but the highlight for me was touring this beautiful Palace. It is a good thing we were... More

Impressive collection of Austrian oils, including Klimt and Schiele. Other masters to including Van Gogh, Munch. Not supposed to take photos here but I saw lots of people getting photo (except The Kiss which is closely watched). Beautiful architecture in this former palace.

We love visiting historical palaces etc and if this was the first palace I ever visited I would have rated it higher as it is a beautiful place. The gardens are magnificent and you will need a little time and walking shoes to see it all.
