We had no idea that this park was even here, we were in the area having booked a boat ride and then we intended to swim in the lake... but in our search for the beach we stumbled upon the ticket office for this park. It cost just €5.50 for the day. There are multiple pools and beaches, lots of places to eat and drink, free lockers and a fantastic crazy golf course (€2 for 18 holes, overseen by a lovely little old lady who sits knitting while you play) There is a wave pool, a water slide and plenty of green open space to relax on and sunbathe. We spent hours and hours here! It had such a lovely atmostphere and is perfect for any age group. Bring cash as non of the cafes/shops accept cards and there is annoyingly no ATM inside the complex.

Quick recommendation: get a month ticket which is only the price of 4 single tickets if u plan to stay there a long time. And it gets u into public pools and swimming places including Alte Donau. ( u have to go in the second gate though which is quite farfrom the metro station alte donau)
If u want to cool down, go bathe in the Danube. The price is great, the place is great, the water is great. I personally don't like salty water so this was perfect. You just might find a lot of seaweed far out. oh and try to ask for a locker that's near where you entered cuz the place is huge. So i ended up with a locker 2000 something but from where i entered it was only locker 200 something.

We visited here during a long weekend visit to Vienna it was a lovely relaxing day after a cycling wine tour the day before. There are 3 “parks” like this on Alte Donau easy to find when leaving the U-Bahn just turn onto the main road and follow the crowds. There are two paid parks and one free which we didn’t realise although it was less than 10 euros for a full days entry good facilities for showering very clean environment and a refreshing swim in the Danube what’s not to like?

I went with some friends with the metro to a station called Alte Donau, very near to the station we went to buy tickets to enter - I dont recall the actual price but defiantly between 2-6 Euros/Person-. We had so much fun you swim and some geese also swim you could take pictures and there is a restaurant to eat and if you want you could rent small boats. I highly recommend a day there.

My friend and I visited this beach in Vienna when it was 32 C. The water was perfect: not very warm but not freezing either. There are some great docks for jumping and diving off of. There is also a separate dock for lounging. The 'beach' part is on the grass with tons of shade from the willow trees. It is truly excellent on a hot day. Entry is around €5 depending on the time of day.

This huge park and swimming area is a very nice place in the city limits of Vienna where the temperature is over 30 celcius,
then you must take the metro and direct yrself to this hidden paradise.Cool water will refresh you in any way.Strongly recommended to call at this place and enjoy yr time with a lot of available activities.

Lovely place to relax in the shade and take a dip in the Danube on a very hot afternoon in Vienna. Great facilities and reasonably priced.

Great place to go for a cooling swim on a super hot day like today. It was busy, but took no time to get in & there was loads of room in the water for a refreshing swim in a back water of the Danube (I think). Very close to Alte Donua U station, just follow the crowd.

It was quite close to metro station called Alte Donau. We went there after 4pm and price was 2,50€ each. Lot of activities, restaurants/bars and clean water. Very nice.

I was in vienna over in july and we hit exceptionally hot weather in the 30ies and my friends - who live in vienna - took me to the strandbad in alte donau.
This was one of the nicest experiences I have had - I loved the idea of swimming in the Danube and sunbathing on the banks - the place was immaculately kept they even had boats cleaning the area we were swimming at. There were a couple of swimming pools on the premises as well which was fantastic - there was even warm water to shower in - I waxed lyrical about it - a great place in a great town and I shall certainly be visiting there again. The facilities are too numerous to list here but there is even a restaurant and even a 'nudist' area - the whole experience was great and quite central to boot. It was also very reasonably priced
