We visited the Wiener Konzerthaus to listen to classical music from Shostakovich and Beethoven. The Suite for Variety Orchestra No. 1, composed by Shostakovich was special and memorable for us, as our nephew played the saxophone in the orchestra! Although it was Friday evening, it was a full house and we enjoyed the music very much!
The outside and inside of the Wiener Konzerthaus are so stylish! It was built between 1911 and 1913. The Great Hall not only looks fantastic but has superb acoustics. We also enjoyed the Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) staircase leading to the Great Hall.

I was looking for a concert in Vienna before my trip in December, but most of the concerts online were the touristy type with highlights of Mozart and Strauss pieces. Luckily I found a concert worth going to, which was in the Mozart Hall of Konzerthaus, where the Vienna Chamber Orchestra played at a Sunday morning concert. The repertoire was Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor and Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 in A major. The entire concert hall was packed and although we were closer to the back of the hall, the acoustics were very good. The orchestra played excellently, although we were a bit disappointed that the piano was a bit muted as the pianist played on what looked like a baby grand as his back was facing the audience. The symphony was beautifully played and for the encore, the orchestra played Strauss' Voices of Spring Waltz to the Austrian crowd's delight.

Really high quality concerts (as a classical music lover). Come here if you want to experience elite classical music culture in Vienna. I watched two concerts, although originally planned only one before trip (I bought a second ticket there because I just cant help it!) Interior design may not be the best compared to the magnificent Golden Hall of Musikverein, but it is still not too bad. The staff at the entrance and ticket booth are very helpful. Very friendly and offered actual help to resolve my problem with my ticket. My favourite place in Vienna and I will come back again if I have the chance

The building was so overheated that you couldn't stand it in a suit. Apparently the Vienna Concert Hall doesn't charge any energy? So much for saving energy.
Very narrow, uncomfortable, old seating. The fabric on the seats is disgusting and ancient.
The highlight of the evening was the food.
€7.50 for a glass of orange sparkling wine (and cheap sparkling wine at that)
We were very annoyed that we were ripped off like that.
Bread rolls and other products were outrageously expensive.
Toilet facilities were also old and worn
The concert was fine, although there were a few slip-ups by the musicians.

This is a quintessential experience in Vienna, the capital of music and culture. We thoroughly enjoyed our concert featuring the Vienna Philharmonic directed by Franz Welser-Möst in the big hall. Treat yourself to an evening of some of the best music on the planet!
Our program included:
Johannes Brahms
Tragische Ouverture d-moll op. 81 (1880)
Symphonie Nr. 3 F-Dur op. 90 (1883)
and
Richard Strauss
Also sprach Zarathustra. Tondichtung frei nach Friedrich Nietzsche op. 30 (1896)

I followed the recommendation and bought tickets for the New Year's concert of the Strauss Festival Orchestra Vienna - Music made in Austria. The concert was great, they played, among others, fabulous melodies of the Strauss dynasty - waltzes, polkas. Peter Guth who conducted the orchestra was amazing. Great experience!

Less known and quite close to the Musikverein. It consists of three rooms. We went to the middle, the Mozart room to a concert of Jazz and Brazilian music. Maravilloso. The three rooms are fully operational. Musical life in Vienna is amazing.

Such a nice ambiance!
A concert in an old style.
Dont be tempted to book you tickets with agents or consierge, the best way is to just use the official websites.

Went to a conzert performance by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra here. The Konzerthaus is a truly fitting venue for the great composers of music, many of them Austrian! From the ambiance to the sound quality, it is well worth the effort to come and enjoy amazing music.

We have been here to listen to the Strauss Festival Orchestra on the new year's eve. The concert was great, and the Konzerthaus is beautiful, with an awesome acoustics. Besides, the organization is flawless, as we could verify after the concert when we went to take our coats back: in spite of a crowd of people, the service was fast and precise.
When culture and organization go hand in hand the result is always wondeful: and so is the Konzerthaus.
