Aquarium-60ies Style Refugium for Cocktail Afficionados

Nice Cocktail Bar with a beautiful aquarium style bar-decoration. On weekends lots of (beautiful) people, hard to get a chair or table.

My husband and I visited here having read the reviews on TripAdvisor. I walked around the streets following my little map - X marks the spot and was gleeful when I finally found the place. Wish I had walked on by. Very dark, dank and musty smelling. We were the only two there and after looking at the menu I... More

This is a 60s style bar with a James Bondish feeling to it. The cocktails are always spot on and the bar stewards are really well trained. This bar is in a surrounding with some rather low-key bars and clubs, but don't get scared off by that. First Floor is nothing like it! Background music is mostly jazzy and finishes... More

Kinda douche. Regular cocktails and not very welcoming. The music is pretty nice though. You can smoke inside if you want.

The cocktail list is extensive and our drinks were well made. This is not a modern 'trendy' bar and we throughly enjoyed the atmosphere. It has an old fashioned feel with relaxing jazz music playing in the background and plenty of small tables with cozy, well used leather chairs and stools.

Staying at the bar was pretty nice. Chatting and seeing the bartender doing your drink is very nice. Drinks were good, pretty hefty pricetag i believe, but ok for that quality. Staff was friendly and very quick in serving the drinks. I was there on a saturday at 10pm. Hightime and I only waited 5 min for a drink. Bar... More

Heard many good things about this place before going but it didn't live up the good words. The waiter was somewhat of a leech so wasn't relaxing. The guy at the cloakroom was rude. The barman was it's only saving grace. They need to sort out the atmosphere in there too as it's incredibly stuffy!

This place is a true hidden gem. If you're not looking for it you wouldn't notice it. It's like walking into someone's apartment except its probably the best jazz cocktail bar I've been to and that's say a lot. Try the Vespa

Small cocktail bar good enough to start your evening. Sit by the bar and enjoy the aquarium view and have a good conversation with friends. The price of the drinks were on high end . Besides the extensive drink menu, it didn't offer much to rave about. ..Cozy, expensive and open till 4am on Sundays.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
