In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

I visited this bar on the basis of a Yelp! review.  It is one of the best decisions I have ever made.  Having visited on the basis of that review, it is ironic that I now share the reviewer's concern about spreading the word.  On the one hand, I want to tell the whole world.  On the other hand, I greedily want to keep the secret.

There is a bartender here named Heinz Kaiser, which I almost think must be a pseudonym.  Regardless, the man is a genius.

I have drunk bloody maries all my adult life.  I have been drinking virgin maries since I was a very little boy.  I know what is a good Bloody Mary.  What Heinz made me expanded my mind.  He uses a clear "white tomato juice" which he makes himself by filtering fresh tomatoes through a cloth.  He has homemade cucumber infused gin.  He uses an egg white, and his own concoction of spices.  The beverage he creates raises the Bloody Mary bar to a level I could never before have fathomed.

He made my wife a cola-free Cuba Libre with tamarind and cloves.  It tasted exactly like it had Coke in it, but better.

He combined a homemade blue cheese infused liquor with a chocolate liquor.  As he explained to us, the two flavors affect the same area of the tongue, so you cannot taste them separately.  Rather, they create a new flavor.  A new kind of delicious.

He also made me a marvelous vodka martini.  He's not just about fancy.  But he brings a passion and a creativity to his work that is truly unique and almost worth the transatlantic flight all on it's own.

We came in on a Wednesday.  The place was practically empty.  It was warmly decorated and quiet.  Heaven.  I hope this positive review won't ruin it.

Really nice joint, feels like a 50's American bar. Selection of drinks is excellent, and the bartenders know their staff and they are uber friendly. The only problem I had was the fact that you can smoke in doors - but this is more an Austrian thing than a choice of this establishment. All in all, nice and recommended place for cocktail and whisky lovers.

We had a good night at Dino's - very lively and fun atmosphere and the drinks were also good but pricey (normal for cocktails in Vienna). For me it doesn't merit a return trip, however because t was oppressively smoky. Very small and no ventilation. Can't wait for the smoking ban.

Wow, to get an expertly made cocktail in a nice, dark, cozy bar so far from the States? What a spot. The bartenders were a hit at this place: outgoing, bombastic, welcoming. Highly recommended, not kitschy or overplayed as American. The clientele was a mix of locals and expats. Just a solid western style, upscale bar, with perfect drinks and great folks pouring them.
