Top ways to experience Madame Tussauds Vienna and nearby attractions

The area
Address
Neighborhood: Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
How to get there
  • Praterstern • 4 min walk
  • Messe-Prater • 9 min walk

A great morning was spent with the celebrities.

The models were very accurate and life like. We enjoyed the time, and there was a lot to see and walk through.

Get the vienna pass to go here, as its quite expensive and you can fit lots in the vienna pass

Exactly what anyone familiar with Madame Tussaud’s would expect to see.
More life like (and creepy) the closer you get your face to them!
A mix of global celebrity, figures of importance and more Viennese specific exhibits like Freud, Beethoven and Klimt.
Cool opportunity to cast your own hand in wax half way round if you have the time to spare.

Been to Madame Tussauds in London and in Amsterdam. This one in Vienna was by far the funniest one and also interactive for kids.

Big disappointment comparing the Madame Tussauds of London.
Very small, you can spend maximum 30' and also we were very disappointed when we understand that there is no 4D Cinema!
Not worth to visit.

It is fun however too expensive for the content. It needs more figures and more interacrive experiences to justify the cost.

Thank you for rating us! We really appreciate your feedback. However, we are very sorry to hear that you did not quite enjoy your visit and found it too expensive. We are always eager to get original clothes and accessories from our stars (e.g. Udo Jürgens sits at a real Bösendorfer piano or Sandra Bullock is wearing a designer dress from Elie Saab), which are quite expensive. Additionally, the making process of a wax figure costs up to 200.000€. Hence, you can imagine why prices are set that high. Nevertheless, there is the possibility to check for discounted tickets on our website, which might give you cheaper entrance or book combination tickets of two sights at once. We hope you had fun anyways and might want to come back again soon! Best wishes from Vienna!

Pretty much like any other Madame Tussaud’s you might have visited with a few different faces like Mozart and Quentin Tarantino the vegas style wedding chapel with Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe was pretty cool too. There was a bit of a debate about the type of masks allowed inside as my wife has some issues, staff were not nice about the situation which seemed totally pointless as you’re allowed to remove mask completely while taking pictures as you go around.

Madame tussauds was the greatest museum that I visited. I though that the building had only 1 floor but it has 2 floors, the service was so kind and nice. I cant wait to visit you again

We used our Vienna passes for this attraction. We went only because of that. It’s a long time since we’ve been to MT in London. However we were pleasantly surprised by the layout of the wax works and how one could interact with the lifelike figures. It’s a fun visit, and great to have a photo or two to send to friends as a bit of fun.
