Pretty monument

This is a very pretty monument but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it. If you're in Stadtpark, it's worth a quick stop.

This was on our list of must sees whilst in Vienna. Glad we made the effort. This attraction doesn't get busy at least not while we were there so plenty of time to get that photo you want.

What is a trip to Vienna without a stop at the Strauss and Mozart statues? Simple musts. Easily accessible in the Staadtpark a short walk from the Hotel Imperial or Ritz Carlton. Beautifully set in the park. A perfect picture of Vienna and its wonderful musical history.

The park is worth visiting and has a few nice buildings and monuments, one of which is this one. When we were there, in autumn, there was a small vehicle offering excellent cappuccinos and espressos close to this Strauss monument. Not sure if it is always there though.

Strauss monument in gold colour should easily be found inside Stadtpark. The statue was landmark of the park and popular among local people as well.

This is very nice park. Good fpr walk or to relax on grass or park bench. The Strauss monument is beautiful. Take a good look of it from different angles.

One of the most intriguing questions begged from seeing this statue is why is Strauss Golden and Mozart not - must be a Viennese thing ! State Park, where this statue can be found, is a much used park by all ages and often whole family units. It's a really 'lived in' park. Be prepared to wait for a decent... More

A nice place to come for a walk, but not in a freezing winter, although you can take amazing pictures. There is a lake near by, with nice coffee shops and a romantic park.

The BBC's Rick Stein thought it was visible from all over Vienna. The reality in summer is that it can be seen from about 50m away in any direction and is not signposted. Some maps will show it in its position down near the Kursalon but others just say its in the Stadtpark. Just take the U3 to the corner... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
