EXPERIENCE HUNDERTWASSER UP CLOSE: Art - Achitecture - Nature - Vision Two intriguing museums experiences await the visitors at the KUNST HAUS WIEN. The Museum Hundertwasser presents the world's biggest collection of Austrian exceptional artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928 -2000): his world famous paintings, fine art prints, tapestries and architectural designs. Here you can immerse yourself in his imaginative world of art inside and out - colorful walls and uneven floors in the interior, the artistic façade with tiles and color fields on the outside. "Tree tenants" grow from the windows, plants and flowers inhabit the rooftop and inner courtyard. In Vienna's first "green museum" one can sense Hundertwasser's visionary mind and experience his ecological engagement on site. Beyond that the KUNST HAUS WIEN is Vienna's premier house for photography exhibitions: changing exhibitions introduce the biggest names of photography to a wide audience.

Visited this and Hundertwasser house on my first day. It was the highlight of my trip. Fantastic architecture, friendly staff. Could have gone back every day!

We went to this museum to see the Faberge exhibition. This was disappointing but the treasures of the Habsburgs more than made up for it. A diverse collection that was quite beautifully presented, containing exquisite and often surprising items it is well worth a visit. The Cafe upstairs is also stunning - look up as you ascend the stairs!

I am not sure what exactly I liked here. It is obviously interesting, but it is not the most important part. This place makes you think, if you are a 'thinker'. The changes we make in our environment to make it more comfortable for ourselves, and we take everything we can take from the nature to enjoy by consuming, those... More

Not far from the famous landmark in Vienna known as the Hundertwasserhaus, you can find the very good Kunsthaus Wien (Museum Hundertwasser), where you can learn more about Friedensreich Hundertwasser, his concepts and take on modern art. This is a genuinely unique museum in Vienna that allows you to step into the mind and world of the famous 20th century... More

Hundertwasser designed an exceptional space to create and play in. The museum's curators know how to design an exhibit environment and give the works their due.

Hundertwasserhaus was designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser (born Friedrich Stowasser), the man of 'a hundred waters'. He loved nature, plants and colour. As a big Gaudi fan, I thought there would be some similarity but in my opinion, there wasn't. Both loved nature and used colour extensively but beyond that, they had different philosophies and creative methods. We took the tram... More

All tickets are discounted on Mondays! I went here because other reviewers had said if you liked Gaudi in Barcelona, then you should see it. I wasn't a huge fan of Hundertwasser's early art, but I liked his older art a lot more. There's a cafe attached and I highly recommend the Kaiserschmarrn. It's a yummy pastry with a sweet... More

Hundertwasser's work is special enough to warrant a visit to this museum, but it is not the best museum set-up, unfortunately. Walking into the building is interesting. Fortunately, I was warned to watch my step so I did. Be careful not to be so distracted by the architecture that you trip on the uneven floors. The permanent exhibition (which was... More
