In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

Built in the beautiful Renaissance style of architecture Stallburg is the section of the Hofburg Palace that forms part of the Imperial Stables.
The world famous Lipazzaner horses are kept here ,a traditional of dressage that dates back over 450 years, we passed by here and we were able to view the beautiful horses who were resting up in their stables.
Easy to locate on Stallburggasse and most definitely well worth checking out if your in the area of the Hofburg Palace.

An institution, even for non-horse lovers. The facility is very well maintained and offers a glimpse into life in the stables. There are guided tours. There is a smell of horses everywhere, which is part of the atmosphere.
