Baroque park in heart of Vienna
A classic European classic European baroque park that is beautiful at any time of the year, especially when the flowers are blooming and in October. There are always many people here, especially in summer. From the platform in front of the Upper Belvedere a picturesque view of Vienna opens. A small market here at Christmas. The park is very well looked after, they scold everyone who goes out on the grass, so it is always beautiful here. The only minus is that it is very windy here in autumn and winter

Made me a new fan of gardens
I only had a day in Vienna and, walking into the city centre from the Hauptbahnopf, the first place I came to was the Belvedere Palace. Not having much time at each place, I decided to tour the gardens. I was there a good two hours. The only part I didn't see was the pay for entry Mediterranean garden (think that is what it was called). I spent a good deal of time in what seemed the be the university gardens. I don't know if they are strictly part of the Belvedere Gardens, but I am including them. I've always been more inclined towards seeing fauna over flora. I do love forests, but formal gardens have never been on my bucket list. Until I visited this place! I was in awe at everything I saw. And when I passed through a gate to behold the spectacle that was the view into Vienna centre... ...well, I shall leave that for you to discover.😉 Certainly tour these gardens. They are beyond beautiful.

Beautiful gardens - well worth a visit
We decided to visit these gardens as an alternative sightseeing in the inner stadt, and we weren’t disappointed. We took the 0 tram following a walk through stadt park and it was easy to get there. The gardens were beautiful with a large botanical section, but the formal gardens were most impressive. When we walked through the gate around the back of the house the view was breath taking. As the designer intended they are reminiscent of Versailles. It was a relaxing hour and a half spent wandering through the grounds - all for free. We peeked into the palaces which looked architecturally stunning and walked through some of the rooms of lower Belvedere which were beautiful. I would highly recommend visiting.

    Beautiful Baroque garden at Belvedere
Situated between Upper and Lower Belvedere Palace buildings is the beautiful Baroque style Garden that is considered one of the very finest in all of Europe. You will find delicately landscaped grounds, gorgeous flowerbeds hedges, sculpture lined walkways along with decorative fountain pools. Landscape views of and within the gardens are lovely, especially viewing south towards Upper Belvedere. From Upper Belvedere, looking north you will see the gardens with Lower Belvedere and Innere Stadt in the distance. It is a beautiful view when sky conditions are favourable. Well worth allowing half an hour or so to explore the garden before or after your visit to the Belvedere palace attractions.

Beautiful palace, gardens a bit dull in winter
The palace is a beautiful sight both during the day and at night when it is lit up. In December there is a small Christmas market here which is nice. As we came in December, the gardens were not at their fullest, however as a whole its still worth a visit if in Vienna.

Lovely gardens, though not at their best in December.
These gardens are part of the Belvedere complex and comprise the lower gardens, which are laid out over three terraces between the two palaces, and the upper garden which is on the other side of the upper main palace (now a museum) which has a large reflection pool. The gardens were commenced around 1700 and the public has been allowed free entry since 1780. The gardens are laid out in a Baroque style with symmetrical flower beds, trimmed hedges, lots of grass areas, fountains, pathways and steps between the tiers. There are also a number of statues. Unfortunately there was not a lot of colour visible from the plants in December and none of the fountains were operating. It was however, quite crowded.

    Superb gardens!
The gardens of the Belvedere Palace are breath-taking in their expanse. The layout, with the gardens sloping down the hill from the upper palace to the lower, is brilliant. The gardens can be accessed for free; even if you're not touring the museum, it's worth a visit to the gardens if you have the time.

Classic Baroque park built in the 18th Century for Prince Eugen of Savoy. If you can visit just one place in Vienna, to get an idea on how it was the life during the Imperial era, it should be this one.
Every square centimeter is decorated according to the Baroque architectural style. Every leave, branch or flower is cut or mowed to enhance the view of the castle and fountain. Female sphinx statues guard the alleys. Two allegoric statues of Prince Eugen fighting a crocodile dominate the fountain.
Although the entrance fee to Belvedere Museum is costly (26 Euro for adults), the gardens can be explored for free.

The Belvedere Complex includes two incredible palaces with great art and architecture; however, just as impressive and enjoyable is the gardens that surround it. As I have said in reviews of the palaces, enter one side and leave the other. This way you get to walk the gardens as well. Again, there are just as amazing made for pictures.

Like in some movies, or time traveling something like that. Really beatifull place interesting for every kind of people. History, art, architecture, or just walking around and enjoy in beatiful garden.
Unfortunately it was windy and cold, but i can imagine how beatiful is it in summer with everyhthing is green and all fountains are working, so next time planning to come in summer or at least spring.
Also, seems like it's miles away from city center, but actually it's 10-15min with public transportation

We took a walk through the gardens to get back to our hotel and they were beautiful. As entry to the gardens are free you should take the time to stroll through instead of the road or taking the trams.

Very well kept, with statues, fountains, and impressive building containing museums and galleries should you be looking for a paid activity.

No holiday to Vienna would be complete without a trip to the Belvedere Palaces and one of the most beautiful features of this palace complex are Belvedere Schlossgarten.
These Baroque gardens rank amongst the most beautiful in the world and are situated between the Upper Belvedere Palace and the Lower Belvedere Palace .
The gardens were designed by Dominique Girard ( garden architect of the Elector Of Bavaria ) in the 18th century with symmetrical flower parterres ,fountains, water basins ,tiers ,steps, hedges, reflective ponds ,it's just a great garden area to explore ,my twin brother Stephen and I walked from Lower Belvedere Palace to Upper Belvedere Palace ,with snow gently falling it was bitterly cold but the gardens looked amazing,we warmed up with cups of hot mulled wine in Upper Belvedere Palace Christmas Market ,all in all we loved our visit to Belvedere Schlossgarten and if you're planning a holiday to this most beautiful of city's it's most certainly well worth visiting.

A traditional like cafe with classic decoration but with very poor products and a non-friendly staff (almost rude). One waiter insisted of tipping him despite the fact that he had an attitude from the beginning. The apple strudel with the vanilla cream was nice though. The hot chocolate was basic.
