In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

We enjoyed our visit here - there are some fascinating things to try and illusions that are both interesting and amusing. It's not a big place and, when there are a lot of children running around can seem a bit crowded and frenetic. You need to pause and concentrate.
It also helps to be patient and wait your turn to look at/try things
Because it's not big the queue to get in can get a bit lengthy and you might be there for a while.
Probably worth the entrance fee - if you haven't waited too long to get in and take your time to properly look at things

The museum is not amazing but it is differnent and interesting. We queued for about 20 minutes I would not queue for more than 30 ( there is a sign). The doorman controling the queue was BosniaH was amazing a real plus when we got the head of the queue. The queue is good because the place would be ruinned if it was full of people inside. Be warned the museum is very small just 4 rooms and do not rush look at each illusion in turn take your time. We really enjoyed our visit we like a puzzle and we spent about 30 minutes just solving one. We were inside for at least one hour. Be warned it might not be out thing if it is not you could see it all in 10 minutes and say what a waste of money.

I love museums where you interact, try, learn have ur mind work a little and confused. This museum was filled with that ill show some pictures from the visit. And while waiting in line for the tickets, you are given a chance to solve a puzzle which i solved while waiting in 2 minutes only.. it is so nice !!

Like many who have reviewed this museum, I wish I had read the reviews prior to visiting.

The space is very small, we spent less than 30 minutes there due to how small the space is and number of other tourists making it impossible to really enjoy.

My son spent a goodly amount of time trying to discover if there was a second level to the venue as he was convinced there must be an illusionary entrance somewhere given the price. Alas all he found was a electrical cupboard.

We were disappointed by what is offered given the ticket price. For 13 EUR we were expecting a real museum, not just 2 rooms we were done with in 20 min. The rooms were crowded and we were not even able to make use of some photo points or try out some gimmicks.

The museum mainly offers some larger printouts of what you might have seen in a standard book of visual effects / illusions. Overall, we were dis-illusioned. We can not recommend it.

After a full hour in the queue (online tickets are a waste of time as do not give you a specific time slot or preference in queue) we entered the museum. It is tiny, with disappointing ‘attractions’. Most things like optical illusions are simple and underwhelming, same you can find in free apps or social media posts. Every activity needed to be queued for inside the museum too. Museum would benefit from a slot time system, better attractions and ‘crowd’ control inside.

Overpriced (€14/adult and €10/child). The whole experience does not even last 30 mins. Museum is located in a very small premise; visitors are bumping into each other. Experience could be enhanced if the displays were spaced out. I went in with high expectations but was disappointed. More thought and effort is needed. I would say go there only if you’ve run out of things to do or only have a short time.

Overpriced place with poor execution. There were mainly brain puzzles and info boards, not that many illusion rooms or activities. Place was small and seen in 30minutes. For someone who knows nothing about illusions beforehand, it may give something but if u already know something, dont bother. Nothing new for us.

Excellent museum. A great, fun experience that must be done. Suitable for couples, families, children. Recommended time between 1 and 2 hours. The price is fair. The place is not big but gives good value. you will not leave without funny and Special pictures to send to family and friends. The museum is in the city center so do not miss the opportunity.

The illusions were interesting especially the ones were there were illusions of size.
It cost 30 euro for 2 adults and 1 child and the visit lasted less than 30 minutes. I thought that was quite expensive - I wouldn’t do it again.
