As our apartment was overlooking this well-supplied market, we visited it a couple of times. The market is named after the big church of Saint Roch, dedicated to a XIV. century French Christian saint.
There was an excellent choice of quality bakery products, always fresh and tasty. The quality of the vegetables and fruit was also superb, but the prices were higher than in the nearby Billa supermarket where we could also choose from the goods on the shelves.

Not much to see here but it’s worth a visit if you have a day or multiple day ticket for the underground. It’s quite small but has good variety of shops and places to eat

A small market that I discovered by chance when I went to visit the Hunderwasser house(the market is placed beside the metro station). There are a dozen of smaller or larger stands selling very apetizing food, vegetables, fruits or pastries.

This is a small and compact open air farmers market in an upscale neighborhood near the Ringstrasse. People, especially the locals line up for specialty cheeses and deli offerings from several stalls and there is a section just for cut flowers. There are also pop-up cafés where you can have coffee and small bites, as well as ubiquitous sausages! The offerings in the Rochusmarkt are decidedly more upscale than other farmers markets in the city. Exploring farmers markets are a great way to get a glimpse of how the locals live. This market is definitely worth exploring!

This small open market offers good street food but rather expensive! There is a lot of eclecticism - fish offers a delicious choice, but the Arabian dunners, for example, are questionable as quality ...I buy something like a kish loren with salmon, spinach and egg - tasty and kosher for a price of 8 euros.

If you are in this upscale neighborhood just outside the Ringstrasse you can assemble a fine picnic lunch from this collection of stalls specializing in cheese, bread, wine and the full range of delicatessen offerings. The prices are cheap and the quality high and the stall tenders invariably friendly and helpful.
