Neighborhood: Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

Took in a show of classical, opera and ballet with an ensemble of about a dozen. It was full of tour groups but I think the show runs almost 365 days a year and there was a lot of talent on the stage. It was part of our tour and we were at the back, some doubt it was full cost but we got the free drink, had a chance to enjoy the patio and got a sense of the beauty and history.

I definitely recommend it! We have been to Vienna a few times but this was the first time we went to a concert. The musicians are motivated, you can tell and they create a good atmosphere. The staff are very friendly. We took a package with dinner and got some very good fish.
My wife and I will be happy to come again the next time we visit with the in-laws.

The pre dinner 4 course meal at the nearby Liebsteinsky restaurant was superb.
2 minutes from the Kursalon.
Concert was varied and professional with outstanding ballet, chamber musicians and solo vocalists.
Highly recommended.

This place is a joke. Appalling organisation and service. We pre booked tickets to the evening concert at 65 Euro per person, unlike almost every other venue, there is no easy entry with a QR code but a long and inefficient line up at the booking office to get your ‘tickets’ which you’d already paid for. Then they can’t find your booking in the computer, but after some consternation give you your tickets. Then send you to another line for compulsory coat and bag check in (2 euro per piece). The lobby is full of people not knowing what to do, lining up in different queues, tempers getting frayed, tour groups arriving, delayed start whilst people trying to enter the hall. I can’t believe this is what they do every night. It is a Function Centre with poor organisation and a don’t care attitude. Just after your money. Completely overpriced and unsatisfactory. I would avoid this underwhelming experience at all costs.

We booked category A tickets at the Kursalon to be sure of a good view as my partner is small. The hall was overbooked so there were no category A seats, in fact there were no seats available and we were expected to stand at the back. The hall was nothing like the pictures and we had to enter through a yard at the back. I suspect this is a rip-off where they take you to another room and hope you don't notice. We walked out.

I've been to this kind of "tourist" concert before, but that's the game when you go to Vienna, the last time was in another, less prestigious venue, at the technical high school.
This time we paid 65 € ,more and obligatorily 2 € for the cloakroom.
The seats are not numbered and we were placed at the back of the room and the acoustics were deplorable, which ruined my evening!

Because I was in Vienna in August, the Opera House was dark. But the performance at Kursalon allowed me to experience the music of Strauss and Mozart, along with opera and ballet performances. It's a lovely venue and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

What a superb evening.
I have never been a great lover of opera or ballet, but this place gives you a little bit of everything that will leave you wanting more.
We had VIP tickets, €100 each. Well worth the money.
Front row seats, a “goody” bag with a program each as well as 2 CD’s. A free drink at the break too. Any theatre tickets in London would be twice the price!!
A small 9 piece orchestra that showed you really don’t need a conductor!!
Two singers, a Soprano and a Tenor that had a great chemistry. I realise now that you really don’t need to know the words to interpret the meaning. It is done through the voices and mannerisms. The Soprano made me feel quite emotional. A gift, quite clearly.
Two dancers, maybe not ballet in it’s purest form, but very entertaining. Again, great chemistry between them.
Thank you all so much for an absolutely wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary.

We thoroughly enjoyed the concert. We had intended to book the dinner as well, but booked it too late. Just as well, we think. Concert much more affordable and we had a great dinner on our own first. Just to hear Strauss played where he actually conducted was pretty cool

We arrived at the concert 30 minutes before the start. There is a notice on the door of the Kursalon that the venue has been moved to some address. The Kursalon workers advised us to take a couple of stops by tram and one by metro, and then look for a hall there. We arrived by taxi in 15 minutes and even managed to enter the hall before the concert began, but the seats were not the ones we had paid for, but at the end of the hall. The concert itself is great.
