We took the pass for a week even tho we were there for 5 days. The pass gets you in on a fast track to most but not all places ( for example it's no go for the very popular house of seas aquarium). The...More

The Vienna Pass gives you free and fast access to most of the monuments of the city. At first, it saves you money, because you get a discount visiting a monument instead of buying a ticket at the gate. Then, you get to overtake the...More

The passes are expensive and bring no real benefit to your trip budget. Important sites are excluded, and for the popular ones that are included you still have to wait long lines to get an entrance ticket after showing the pass. But the worst part...More

I purchased a 2 day Vienna Pass. Used it in late November. It was well worth it. Cost was 89 Euros and I saved quite a bit during those 2 days (over 70 Euros). I went to a number of attractions. (Could have gone to...More

Had a one day pass. Most attractions are then free and all transport is free. Some attractions allow you to skip the line but most don't and that is a drawback

We used this over two days and had our moneys worth I think. Our visit was in the winter so not all the attractions are available but many are. So much to see and do in Vienna it would need to be a week pass...More

Vienna Pass (5 Replies)
Hello, We are planning to go to Vienna in July and considering getting the Vienna Pass. It looks like there are tours available in most museums that we would like to take. The question is: 1. Does it make sense to get the pass anyhow or will we end up paying double for the pass and then for the tour? Or will the tour be significantly discounted/free with the pass? 2. I read that you do not really skip the lines is this true? 3. Is the included walking tour worth the time?? TIA!

Actually the Berlin-Frankfurt leg is the only trip where a GRP would make sense. Munich to Innsbruck can be done for cheap with a Regioticket Werdenfelser Land + Innsbruck (38 EUR for 2 on regional trains), all other train travel is in Austria on trains operated by the Austrian ÖBB for which a German Rail Pass is no good anyway. So, no, you do not need a GRP!

DDSG Danube Canal City Sightseeing Cruise in Vienna: A Scam (5 Replies)
Without checking the various evaluation sites, we bought tickets for a DDSG Danube Canal City Sightseeing Cruise in Vienna, each for €22.00. In our ignorance we thought this was a cruise along the Danube. After one hour of advancing along a narrow and boring canal, the boat turned around and returned to the starting point. We haven't seen the Danube. This was a complete waste of time and money. Later, going through the comments at the Tripadvisor section concerning this cruise, I've...More

A shame you didn’t look on here first. Most of us do not recommend this cruise, or the Vienna Pass either for that matter. Your experience reinforces my will to dissuade people from taking this cruise in the future. And please use TA’s resources yourself in future so you’ll be less likely to be disappointed.
