Thankfully, I was able to visit the Gloriette during a rather sunny day in November, and let me just say that it was one of the most beautiful things I saw in Vienna. I think making the trek up and see materialize in the distance...More

When visiting the Schonbrunn park, you'll have to go here too. The view is amazing. The question is if it is worth going up on the roof or not. There is a small fee to access the roof but you'll get a pretty good view...More

After a lovely stroll up the hill, we enjoyed a refreshment and then read up on the vast history of the summer palace. Only wish it had been a sunny day.

I used to do Jogging in this exclusive park, which is usually populated by tourists, but nevertheless, you'll always find some paths in the park where you can be a bit "for yourself" and you won't be bothered, when you're working out.

Vienna’s 13th district has always been in the shadow
of Schönbrunn Palace and its gardens, but has
interesting hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
Allow half a day for the imposing Habsburg residence
and the gardens with Gloriette belvedere. Reserve the
other half to discover the secret charms of this posh
residential neighborhood. Sneak out of the gardens at
Hietzinger Tor (Hietzing Gate) and head down

No, you cannot walk around the gardens or up the hill 24/7. There are opening and closing hours for the park as well. Go to their site and you can see what the working hours are, all depends on the season. The parks are free.

I would skip Bratislava and spend the time in Vienna. Where are you staying in Vienna? That will help with prioritization..... but, with only a half-day, you should stick to the city center.
