Wonderful cooking class experience! I took Andante’s English-speaking cooking class in December and loved every moment of it. The chef was knowledgeable and guided the class with skill and humor. Despite not knowing anyone when I first started the class, I left feeling like I had made wonderful friends, thanks to the welcoming and home-like environment Andante creates. I moved to Vienna just a few months earlier, so it was a great honor to learn about the culture and history of Vienna’s food traditions. While we were cooking, we learned about each traditional dish and why it is a crucial part of Viennese culture. I also learned many practical skills for the kitchen that I have already implemented into my every day cooking. After the class, I went back to the States for Christmas. I was able to make apple strudel for my family because of the excellent class. It was so fun to bring back a part of Austria to teach my family about my new life. If you are looking for something to do during your stay in Vienna, I recommended this cooking class. It’s a wonderful way to experience Vienna!

EXCEPTIONAL!!! Thanksgiving dinner is an ambitious undertaking for anyone, but this team and restaurant exceeded our expectations at every turn and made it an absolute highlight of our holiday season! Every detail was carefully thought through. Andante's elegant and creative cornucopia of classic dishes from all over the US, brought out a range of tastes, senses and aromas. Thank you for bringing us a taste of home to warm our hearts and bellies on a crisp November evening. The atmosphere and cheer were unforgettable. Hang on to this chef and staff! Bravo team Andante!

My mother and I had a great time making Viennese classics like semolina dumplings, Wiener schnitzel, and apple strudel with the lovely Nibel. We learned a lot and the food was really delicious. We can’t wait to make these great dishes at home. We would highly recommend this cooking class.

Attempted to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal with other American's at this cooking school while also wanting to visit some Christmas markets in the area afterwards. Had reservations and established time for the meal, perfect. However, it seemed that the establishment had other ideas. Dinner did not start on time and there was a great amount of wasted time between courses. My wife and I assume that this was to allow patrons to run up their alcohol tab. Food was decent enough but after a couple of hours we skipped out and missed dessert. If you participate in future meals of this nature, please ask questions about how long they intend the meal to take so that you do not make other appointments and become disappointed by not keeping them.

Response from Andante-wien, Geschäftsführer at Andante
Responded Dec 2, 2019
Dear Tony! We regret to read your expectations were not matched. Yes; we did start with 15/20 minutes delay cause we wanted to wait for all the guests to show up. We advertise and understand our Thanksgiving celebration as a family-style dinner which - at least to us - implies waiting for everybody to be seated at the common table. Starters and soups were served right away and we allowed plenty of time for guests to go for a second and third run on the buffet before cleaning up everything for the desserts. I am sorry this took too long for your schedule and I wish you had told us so. And no, there was no strategy to run up our alcohol tab. If so, we would not have placed and continuously refilled bottles of water on the table free of charge, wich - as I am sure you must have noticed in other restaurants in Vienna and in Austria in general - is everything but customary. Anyway; I do appreciate your feedback as it will help us improve our future communication to make sure our guests enter the Andante with the right expectations. Hope you had a great time in Vienna!

It is quite enjoyable to enjoy one's favorite dish the Wiener Schnitzel at a local restaurant, but it is euphoric when you learn its origins and how to make it from scratch from an extremely talented and very witty Chef Nabiel and do it right from Vienna! YOU JUST CAN'T GET ANY BETTER! To say our experience at Andante was exceptional is truly an understatement. Five stars out of 5 does not give the experience nor Chef Nabiel any justice. We were made aware of this experience as part of an excursion that we booked through our river cruise aboard Avalon Waterways. Aside from the fact that our cruise was out of this world, our experience at Andante was equally as appetizing (no pun intended). From the Schnitzel and Parsley Potatoes to our third and final creation, Apple Strudel, we learned every aspect of how to make a truly authentic Austrian meal. And let's not forget about the wonderful Prosecco that seemed to flow rather freely :). WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!!! Chef Nabiel, Daniele and everyone involved, thank you for a truly magnificent experience. We shall never forget you and expect to return with many of our friends in the very near future. Grazie. A presto. Un forte abbraccio! Adriano e Laura Barberi
